ISEKI UK to distribute Raymo

ISEKI UK to distribute Raymo: ISEKI UK & Ireland are pleased to announce that they have been appointed as the exclusive distributor for Raymo products throughout the UK, Ireland and the Middle East.

Commenting on the appointment David Withers explained; “over the last few years there have been several manufacturers that have wanted us to distribute their products for them but in each instance we decided that it might distract from the core mission of growing the ISEKI customer base and delighting existing ISEKI customers. In the case of Raymo though, the product offering was so unique and so different to anything in the ISEKI range and so ‘absolutely of the moment’ that we have decided to enter into this distribution arrangement.”

ISEKI UK & Ireland have had great success with the large National grounds maintenance contractors and a large majority of them using ISEKI tractors and mowers today.   Following numerous discussions and feedback from their customers ISEKI noticed a gap in the market where contractors are being asked by their customer base for all-electric options for their grass cutting needs and that as of now there were no products available that could meet that need. One of the problems with electric mowers is that the weight of dragging an operator (and all the associated hardware) around really negatively impacts on the run time that you can get from the batteries, by taking the operator off of the machine and making it remote control the Raymo products can give unrivalled run times from its Lithium battery pack.

The Raymo mower offers a variety of advantages:

  • 104cm (41”) cutting width, rear discharge full floating deck
  • Small compact machine that is only 51cm (20”) high
  • No oil, fuel hydraulics just clean Battery power
  • Established remote control system
  • Easy change from Battery to hybrid as needed
  • Low noise level ~68dB
  • ZERO Operator vibration level
  • Safe to 35 degree slopes
  • 4 Wheel Drive and Zero Turn
  • Light footprint allows for mowing in really wet and soft conditions

The Raymo electric, zero-emission, remote controlled mower is a unique product that with the ability to swap power packs, offers you a versatile multi-use mower.  Whether you need to cut grass in noise sensitive areas, gain access under low objects such as solar panels or trees, or need to meet the needs of the customer with growing concerns of carbon emissions this mower will exceed your expectations whilst tackling lush dense grass growth with ease.  Visit www.raymoelectric.co.uk for more information.

Campey’s zero emissions mowing

Campey’s zero emissions mowing: Campey Turf Care Systems now provide zero CO2-emissions mowing on areas ranging from regularly managed turf to overgrown vegetation using the 100% electric AllTrec Tool Carrier.

Being environmentally responsible is an essential cause of many companies and councils. By August 2019, more than half of councils in the UK had committed to cutting carbon emissions, with many of them setting 2030 as the date to reduce carbon emissions to zero as part of the UK governments plan to deliver the net zero target by 2050.

Using the AllTrec allows regular maintenance to be completed with zero emissions, minimal noise output and massively reduced vibration for operators, all of which help to improve green spaces without damaging the wider environment.

The machine has been designed by Dutch manufacturer, WeedControl B.V., to be the perfect solution for zero-emissions commercial mowing. The powerful cutting decks are available in 130cm or 180cm width of cut with the height of cut adjustable from 30-110mm. Electric motors directly power the three blade 130cm deck and four blade 180cm deck with an adjustable speed between 2000-3000rpm.

With its zero turning capabilities, it is agile enough to work in small enclosed spaces while also having been designed to work on large areas with a long-lasting battery to match its versatility. The running time is entirely dependent on the circumstances, but when cutting with the four-blade 180cm deck, the battery will typically last for 6-8 hours and 7-9 hours using the three-blade 130cm deck.

All batteries come with a three-year warranty and have a lifetime of + – 2500 charge discharge cycles. The 48VDC battery uses LifePO4 technology with a capacity of 20kwh or an optional 30kwh, with onboard charging taking 4-8 hours.

The AllTrec unit can also be used with a number of other attachments including the Air E-Variator, weed brush, and hedge cutter. The electrically driven hedge cutter can be fully operated using a joystick, making it easy to use for a day of work, while the E-Variator Weed Burner can be used alongside the weed brush to control weeds in a variety of locations. The weed brush can be hydraulically adjusted to any angle and used for a full day without any worry of batteries running out.

A large-action radius and highly efficient attachments combined with low operation and maintenance costs make the AllTrec perfect for use in urban environments, sports complexes, holiday resorts and parks by contractors, local authorities and landscapers.

SpeedSeed 1100 completes fairway recovery

SpeedSeed 1100 completes fairway recovery: While the drought of the summer of 2018 may be a distant memory for some, other clubs are still feeling the effects of the damage caused.

One such club is Boat of Garten Golf Club in the Scottish Highlands, where Head Greenkeeper Michael Mann is still tending to some of the worst affected fairways. The overseeding of which is now much quicker and easier thanks to their new SpeedSeed 1100 from Charterhouse Turf Machinery.

SpeedSeed 1100 completes fairway recovery

The 18-hole, James Braid designed course is renowned for its challenging play and the cleverly shaped, undulating fairways. “The sharp undulations can pose quite a challenge when it comes to maintenance and finding machinery that can work with the challenging terrain” explains Michael, who has been at Boat of Garten for just under a year. “When we needed a new overseeder, we looked at three or four different makes and models, one of which was the new SpeedSeed from Charterhouse. Its compact size meant it could closely follow the uneven ground, so it worked out to be the best option for us.”

Offering a 1.1m working width, the SpeedSeed 1100 does not compromise when it comes to coverage and performance. Creating 990 holes per sq. metre, with an optional second spiked rear roller to double that, it can cover both large and small areas quickly, working at depths of up to 20mm. “After we took delivery of the SpeedSeed from MacGregor Industrial Supplies in July 2019, we were out with it pretty much straight away, overseeding the greens and some of the worst affected fairways. It’s such a great size, suitable for use site-wide.”

“The set-up and controls of the machine are all nice and user-friendly, and it’s accurate seed calibration system is easy to adjust and operate. It’s a very clean machine, that leaves minimal surface disruption and hardly anything to tidy up in its wake.”

By the back end of 2019, thankfully recovery work reached a conclusion, but Michael now looks forward to utilising the SpeedSeed to its full advantage as we enter the new growing season. “While we don’t have a set overseeding programme, now that we have the seeder at our disposal we can look to capitalise on any growth windows and start to work on other projects around the course – weather permitting of course!”

Trio of INFINICUT’s at Reading FC

Trio of INFINICUT’s at Reading FC: Reading Football Club are delighted with their trio of 34” INFINICUT® Fixed Head mowers – reducing noise, hand-arm vibration and lowering the club’s fuel costs.

For Grounds Manager Adam Grantham, as well as ticking a number of environmental boxes, the mowers have also achieved a significantly improved quality of cut.

Adam has been with the club for 16 years and is supported by a team of four at the club’s Madejski Stadium, with a further team of eight looking after Hogwood Park training ground, and their new state-of-the-art Bearwood Park facility. “There’s no denying that the industry is moving towards the electric route. We have to be mindful, in a stadium environment, of the decibel levels and the way this pollutes and echoes. Not only that but we should all be looking at methods and machines that are greener and safer for our teams to use on a daily basis.”

“We’d been in discussions with Vinny Tarbox for quite a while and trialled a couple of different INFINICUT® models before deciding that the Fixed Head machines were going to be the best fit. They have delivered a superior cut and finish and handle well, dealing with the camber and ‘shelf’ that surrounds the pitch” he explains. Its lithium battery power means quiet operation comes as standard, with the club’s shed now rigged up with easy ‘in and out’ charging points.

They also purchased a set of TurfClean™ cassettes for post-match debris removal and surface clearance, as well as ThatchMaster™ cassettes from the renowned TMSystem™. “Compared to other similar cassettes I’ve used, the blades on the ThatchMaster™ are so fine and intricate that they do a fantastic job of pulling everything out that shouldn’t be there. These were in use between the end of July and October, weather dependant, cleaning up the canopy and removing any thatch. This meant we went into the new rugby season, and winter months, in peak condition.”

Adam concludes, “The support we’ve had from Vinny and service technician Jonty Norton has been excellent throughout, providing help and advice to my team and I since we took delivery of the units in June 2019. With the combination of cassettes we have at our disposal, and the superior cut quality we’re achieving with the INFINICUT®, we’re in great shape as we, as an industry, continue to look for greener, cleaner ways to optimise plant health.”
