“We would also like to pay tribute to our current CEO, Marcus Potter, who will be retiring later this year when Nick takes on his new post.  Marcus has made an enormous contribution to Lantra, and our partners, over the last decade and we wish him all the very best in his forthcoming retirement”.

Commenting on his appointment, Nick said: “I have spent the last 25 years working to improve outcomes for learners across further, higher and technical education and I care passionately about the role skills play in supporting individuals, communities and businesses to achieve their goals.

“I am both excited and humbled by the opportunity to join Lantra and to support the land-based and environment sectors to flourish in a time of policy, environmental and technological change.

“I hope to meet as many of you as possible in my first few months in post and to work in partnership to deliver the skills we need for the success of our local, regional and national economies”.

Lantra continues to work proactively with the land-based and environment sector to ensure that skills needs are met through the development of high-quality training and qualifications.

Alongside his colleagues, particularly Alison Pickering, Roger has played a leading role in organising and developing events in the UK and abroad, dealer days, press days, export dealer events, and the company’s brochures, websites, and overall marketing strategy.

The highly regarded seminar programmes for bowls, cricket, croquet, football, and rugby have been running for over 20 years, and Roger and his team have continuously refined and enhanced them. These programmes provide valuable insights from industry experts, supporting everyone from volunteers to professional turf managers.

When SISIS was acquired in early 2011, Roger was instrumental in developing a detailed 90-day integration plan to successfully merge Dennis and SISIS—a significant challenge that had never been undertaken before. A prime example of his expertise was the 2022 Dennis Centenary Year celebration, which he and Alison planned with precision, ensuring the event ran seamlessly.

As a senior team member, Roger’s wisdom and experience have played a crucial role in the company’s growth, contributing to an almost ninefold increase in sales during his tenure.

Beyond his professional contributions, Roger, a lifelong Liverpool FC supporter, has also been the company quizmaster, known for his encyclopedic knowledge of sport—especially football.

Managing Director Megan Oliver, Chairman Ian Howard, and everyone at Howardson Group extend their sincere gratitude to Roger for his dedication and contributions over the years and wish him all the best in his retirement.

New GeoLink and Digital Specialist for Reesink

New GeoLink and Digital Specialist for Reesink: This is a new role developed by the company to reflect the importance Reesink places on the advanced technology expected, including GPS and digital, to drive the business in the future.

Jon Cole, Divisional Business Manager of Reesink Turfcare, says: “Lee will spearhead the introduction of further new products and technologies going forward and will work closely with our dealers and sales team to drive sales, support, and training on these product lines. This will be a vitally important role for Reesink moving forward as more and more GPS, digital and advanced technologies are brought to market.”

New GeoLink and Digital Specialist for Reesink

In his previous role as Service Manager, Lee has been delivering technical support and training to the Reesink dealer network since 2016. With a team including warranty experts and on-site training specialists, Lee provided aftermarket support, getting dealers and end users accustomed to the latest turfcare technologies.

Jon confirms: “Lee’s considerable experience heading up the service team coupled with his previous involvement and expertise bringing new technologies to the market make him the perfect fit for this new role.”

While GPS technology has been playing an instrumental role in advanced spraying for some time, Reesink’s launch of Toro’s new range of automated machinery in January encouraged the company to place a dedicated resource behind the industry wide rollout.

Lee comments: “The technology used in these products requires a dedicated specialist. I hope to bring my existing experience with GeoLink systems to these new products. The technology crosses over, which is beneficial for both our dealers and customers. This new role will complement the existing aftermarket team at Reesink and help to align these advanced products for our technical support team.”

Lee can be contacted at Reesink Turfcare HQ in St Neots on 01480 226800 or by emailing info@reesinkturfcare.co.uk.
