Available from KAR UK, the MCC brings wireless, wide-area coverage and advanced flow management to the commercial irrigation market.

Designed to expand the limits of irrigation control, the MCC delivers wireless, wide-area coverage for large-scale projects while maintaining affordability. Positioned as a medium commercial controller, it bridges the gap between high-end performance and practical value, making it ideal for expansive landscapes, sports facilities, commercial estates and public-sector sites.

At its core, the MCC combines the powerful brain and operating features of the ACC2 Controller with the proven, reliable internal components of the ICC2 Controller. The result is a versatile and cost-effective controller capable of managing between 8 and 108 stations (with up to 54 conventional stations), offering exceptional flexibility across a wide range of site requirements.

One of the MCC’s standout features is its ability to support multiple output types simultaneously. Users can command conventional outputs, EZDS two-wire decoders and Wireless Valve Links all from the same controller. This hybrid capability allows contractors to expand or adapt existing systems without the need for disruptive infrastructure changes which is a significant advantage on retrofit projects or evolving sites.

Advanced flow management and monitoring are central to the MCC’s design. The controller supports up to three flow sensor inputs, enabling precise monitoring across multiple flow zones. It can operate up to eight stations simultaneously, along with up to three pump or master valve outputs, delivering robust hydraulic control for complex irrigation networks. Multiple repeaters are supported, as well as multiple Wireless Valve Output Modules (WVOMs) operating on different channels, further extending its wide-area wireless capabilities.

The MCC also offers a menu-driven, multi-language interface that simplifies programming and daily operation. Whether used as a standalone controller or integrated into a connected network, it provides full functionality and streamlined control for large, demanding sites.

For those seeking centralised management, the MCC uses the same communication modules as the ACC2, enabling cloud-based control via the Centralus Irrigation Management Platform, as well as compatibility with Hunter 360 Software and other SCADA or automation systems. This shared platform not only simplifies troubleshooting and inventory management but also ensures seamless integration into existing Hunter-based systems.

With its combination of scalability, wireless flexibility, advanced flow monitoring and competitive pricing, the new Hunter MCC Controller represents a significant step forward in commercial irrigation control.

Now available in the UK through KAR UK, it provides industry professionals with a practical, future-ready solution for managing large and complex irrigation projects with confidence and precision.

Plumpton Racecourse secures sustainable water supply

Plumpton Racecourse secures sustainable water supply

With increasingly unpredicatble weather patterns, achieving the ideal ‘good to soft’ conditions at Plumpton Racecourse relies on reliable and careful water management. In an attempt to safeguard the future of the course, Head Groundsman and Clerk of the Course Marcus Waters decided to invest in the construction of a reservoir however, delivering the project required navigating not only a complex planning process but also turning the construction around in a matter of a few short weeks. That’s where AMS Contactors stepped in.

Plumpton is a small National Hunt venue, hosting 16 race meetings between September and May. After nearly six years at the racecourse, Marcus notes that the weather is becoming more extreme. “We seem to swing between prolonged dry periods and prolonged wet spells. As we’re on natural clay soil, this means we’re often irrigating early in the season then actively battling to move water off the course in the winter months” he explains.

After a number of successful previous projects, Marcus spoke to specialist contractors AMS about the installation of a reservoir – to reduce their reliance on the mains supply and ensure the racecourse could maintain ground conditions even during hot, dry periods. “From the very start of the process, AMS were absolutely fantastic. From advising us on the process and helping us get the planning application in, they took a lot of stress off our plate.”

With planning permission secured in mid-June, this left only a short window to complete construction before the commencement of the new racing season. Despite the pressure, the AMS team delivered a fully coordinated and efficient project lasting just four weeks. “Everything was organised promptly from machines to materials and, with a little help from mother nature, the AMS operatives worked tirelessly to turn the project around on specification and ahead of time.” Marcus added, “This over-delivery meant we could start filling the reservoir earlier than we expected which turned out to be critical given the lack of rainfall we saw in the summer of 2025.”

The successful delivery has already delivered major benefits for the venue. “We’ve seen reduced reliance on the mains supply, which is not only good from an environmental perspective but also for the budget. We now have the peace of mind that no matter what restrictions we may face, or what the weather can throw at us, we have the water there and ready to go.”

Marcus extended a final thanks to Ashley, Myles and the AMS team. “From a grounds point of view, this is the single biggest project we’ve undertaken and thanks to the guidance, expertise and commitment from AMS it was smooth and will support the racecourse for many seasons to come.”

Redexim UK has strengthened its presence in Northern Ireland with the appointment of Keys Brothers as its official partner for the region.

Based in Hillsborough, Keys Brothers is a well-established family business with more than 25 years’ experience in the industry. With a strong reputation for customer service and technical expertise, the company supports customers across Northern Ireland with dedicated sales specialists, product demonstrators and a highly mobile team of field service technicians.

The new partnership forms part of Redexim’s wider UK growth strategy, ensuring that customers throughout Northern Ireland benefit from enhanced access to its industry-leading range of turf maintenance machinery and specialist equipment.

Redexim has built a global reputation for innovation and durability. Known for pioneering products such as the Verti-Drain®, the company continues to develop advanced solutions designed to improve surface performance across sports turf, golf, landscaping and amenity sectors worldwide.

Allen Whellans, Regional Manager for the North at Redexim UK, explained that the appointment reflects the company’s commitment to aligning with forward-thinking partners.

“We were at a point where Redexim’s going one way and we need to be aligned with partners in areas that are pushing forward,” said Allen. “It’s quite clear to see that Keys Brothers is that partner.”

Allen believes the partnership is a natural fit for both businesses.

“They didn’t have an implement brand to marry up with everything else that they do, so it was a good fit. It’s really more about increasing our brands visibility and working with a partner who will promote the full range of Redexim products.”

Under the new agreement, Keys Brothers will operate across the entirety of Northern Ireland, providing full sales, service and support for the Redexim range.

“It’s the whole of Northern Ireland,” Allen confirmed. “It’s part of the wider strategy for Redexim as we continue to grow the brand. Whilst we continue to push and grow in the UK and globally, we need to align with partners that are also looking to do that.”

A key strength of Keys Brothers lies in its proactive approach to customer engagement. With sales representatives and technicians operating on the road, the team is highly visible and accessible to customers throughout the region.

“They’re very active, and they’re out and about,” Allen added. “We want partners to be out and in front of the customer, and they have lots of touchpoints with customers that we didn’t previously have.”

Commenting on the partnership, Andy Keys, Director of Keys Brothers, said:

“It’s a perfect fit for us because it sits really well alongside the rest of our product range. Redexim is one of the leading names in the industry and has built a strong reputation across a wide range of equipment.

“We know the Redexim range is going to strike a chord with our customers. They’re looking for quality, dependable machinery that does exactly what it’s designed to do, and that’s what this brand is known for. We’re really pleased to be bringing it on board and confident it’ll be a great addition for us and for our customers.”

The partnership ensures that customers across Northern Ireland will now have direct access to Redexim’s full portfolio, supported by local expertise and a responsive aftersales support.

For Redexim, the appointment marks another important step in strengthening its UK dealer network – working with ambitious, customer-focused businesses to deliver long-term growth and exceptional service across every region.
