The move will ensure a seamless transition for John Deere customers who have been served by Rea Valley Tractors LTD (RVT) for the past 38 years. The partnership with RVT will continue until 31 October 2022.

Charlies Groundcare and Machinery – which will rebrand to Charlies Ag & Turf as a result of the change – is based at Coed y Dinas, Welshpool, and already supplies John Deere golf and turf products. The company will now add John Deere’s agricultural portfolio to its business, supporting customers west of Shrewsbury and across mid-Wales through a purpose-built agriculture facility at its Welshpool site.

FAROL will grow its business to supply and support customers in Staffordshire and Derbyshire, while TAG will represent the brand in Shropshire, east of Shrewsbury. Both businesses have already begun actively searching for premises to set up new, local dealerships, demonstrating their commitment to agricultural customers in the region.

Each business will communicate its own plans separately in the near future.

Brian D’Arcy, Agricultural Division Sales Manager, said: “Ensuring that the highest possible level of service and support continues for our customers is the main priority, and we are pleased to have been able to appoint three dealers who will quickly establish themselves in their new areas of responsibility.

“TAG, FAROL, and Charlies, are well established, successful businesses which have served John Deere customers extremely well, so I am confident that the high level of service will continue across the West Midlands and mid-Wales.

“We are grateful for the excellent partnership John Deere and RVT has maintained for the past 38 years and are thankful to the entire team at RVT for its dedication in serving our customers.”

“We are extremely grateful to Allett for their generous donation. As young people navigate the uncertain future left by the pandemic, the DofE is needed more than ever. Donations like this will help us reach more young people, giving them the chance to develop new skills, discover new passions and build lifelong confidence, resilience, and self-belief.”

The online auction attracted bidders from all around the world, including entries from the USA, Canada and Switzerland. The winning bid came from Ron Henry of Georgia, USA who bid the substantial sum of £4,400.00. Ron will receive the British built Jubilee Edition Stirling 51 battery cylinder mower after it has been on display at Windsor Flower Show on 11th June and Gardener’s World Show at the NEC on the 16th-19th June 2022. Ron describes himself as a ‘lawncare geek’ who owns and runs the Golf Course Lawn Store https://golfcourselawn.store He also publishes videos on lawncare, fertilisation and ‘lots and lots of mowing.’ He plans to shoot a video for his YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/RonHenry which has grown massively in popularity over the last few years offering lawncare advice to all. “Given that it’s a one-off special edition Stirling and so nice to look at, it’s unlikely that I’ll mow grass with it. I’m very happy to be able to play a small part in helping young people reach their goals through the donation to the DofE charity. The Jubilee Edition Stirling 51 is a beautiful piece of history that I’m happy to be part of. Special thanks to Allett and their partners for building an amazing mower and making the auction open to an international audience.”

The Stirling range of expert mowers is designed for the home lawn enthusiast with medium to large lawns. The mowers feature the Allett cartridge system which gives professional level cultivation and clean-up for lawn thatch control, autumn renovations and weed control. The auctioned Jubilee Allett Stirling 51 (20”) is powered by the EGO 56V battery system using their unique ‘Keep Cool’ technology. “Lister Wilder’s expansion further strengthens Kubota’s commitment to its customers and the markets in which our business operates,” says Henry Bredin, general manager of Kubota (UK)’s Tractor Business Unit. “This move sees Lister Wilder continue to strengthen its partnership with Kubota, as it actively supports a wider customer base in both agricultural and ground care sectors.”

It may be recalled that Lister Wilder became the first full-line Kubota dealer in Europe, and its business expansion plans have already seen the first of its new Kubota centres established at Meadowlands, Bibury in Gloucestershire, and also at Keynsham, Bristol.

Both these new Kubota centres have led to the creation of new jobs within sales, after-sales and service, plus parts and warranty departments, stimulating the local economies in which Lister Wilder operates.

Lister Wilder’s Bristol-based Kubota centre is scheduled to open on 3rd May 2022 on Burnett Business Park. Its location enables the dealership to support customers in north Somerset and the Mendip Hills, reaching south to Bridgwater and the Quantocks.

“We’re pleased to be a part of this exciting journey with Kubota, but just as importantly, we’re looking forward to welcoming new and existing agricultural and ground care customers through the doors at Keynsham,” says Phill Hughes, sales director for Lister Wilder.
