Reesink announces Master Service Technicians

Reesink announces Master Service Technicians: The Master Service Technician award, the highest training achievement Reesink Turfcare and Toro Commercial has to offer, has been awarded to four more technicians.

Chris Hester from Cheshire Turf Machinery, Ian Hill from Oliver Landpower, Stuart Barrie from Reesink Scotland and Michael Dixon from Lloyd Limited (Newcastle branch) have completed one of the most stringent and comprehensive training courses in the industry and are now able to offer the highest level of service in the UK.

The Master Service Technician (MST) programme is specifically designed to provide the most thorough training for Authorised Dealer Technicians, ensuring their skillset is updated and meets the demands of the industry’s continuous evolution.

With the rapid development of electric and hybrid technology, it’s important that the skills and knowledge in those areas progress at an equivalent rate so that technicians and dealers can better serve their customers and the Toro product.

Stuart confirms this is very much the case: “As engineers we need to keep up with industry progress and development. We all know about climate change and the move from petrol/diesel to electric power in the car industry. Not so well known is our industry is going through the same changes. This course makes sure all engineers are adequately trained to carry on with day to day repairs and requirements as the changes happen.”

When considering the advantages this will bring for customers, Ian says: “The MST course provides the opportunity to train to a standard that’s not widely available in the industry. In a customer facing role, it’s an advantage to be able to give the best level of support and advice to customers and ensure high standards of service on hybrid and all electric systems.”

Michael agrees: “Completing the MST training has meant that Lloyds as a dealer has also benefitted, receiving better warranty return rates and boosting the dealer standards score. It has not gone unnoticed by the company that my efforts have had a positive impact on the business.”

And it’s not just customers who benefit from Reesink setting the standard and offering this course as Chris explains: “For a start, it’s a huge achievement to pass the interview process and be accepted onto the course; that in itself is a worthy addition to the CV! But most of all, it’s recognition for the dedication and hard work you’ve put into your career and with it being similar to a degree in this sector, it’s a big deal.”

Summing up the benefits having a qualified MST in the business, Sean Trotter, service manager from Lloyds, says: “This training gives the engineer the recognition they deserve for their skill set and abilities. It’s an industry recognised qualification held in high esteem with our customers in the golf industry and brings financial benefits with warranty reimbursement and a contribution towards the training once qualified.”

The course has been set up with further benefits for the qualifying technician too as Michael explains: “There’s a trip to America to get a first hand insight into the goings on of Toro and where it all comes from. For someone who works for a dealer this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and trips like this rarely come around.”

Further courses run throughout the year to keep the technicians up-to-date with evolving products and technologies and with all qualified Master Service Technicians hailing from different dealers, it means there’s a good chance customers across England and Scotland now have access to this higest level of service and support.

But there can never be enough, so for dealers wanting to recognise their technician’s talent and ambition, and for technicians wishing to further their careers, call Reesink on 01480 226800 or go online at reesinkturfcare.co.uk/resources/training-courses.

John Deere announces structure changes

John Deere announces structure changes: Nottinghamshire-based grass machinery distributor Henton & Chattell is to cease being a John Deere dealer at the end of March 2023, with two of Deere’s existing dealer businesses expanding to serve customers in the territory.

Henton & Chattell, which has been in business for 90 years, will continue to trade as normal as one of the UK’s leading distributors in the sector. The company has been a John Deere dealer for more than two decades.

Peter Chaloner, Managing Director of Henton & Chattell, said: “We have certainly enjoyed working with the John Deere team and thank them for their support and professionalism. We will continue to work closely with our customers as we develop our professional turf business with other brands.”

Chris Meacock, Golf and Turf Division Sales Manager, said: “We are grateful for the commitment the team at Henton & Chattell has given over the past 20 years looking after turf professionals who operate John Deere equipment, and thank them for their expertise and dedication over this time. We wish them every success in the future.

“Our existing dealership network is already expanding to ensure customers who are currently served by Henton & Chattell experience a seamless transition to our new structure.”

The move will see agriculture and turf dealers Farol and Ripon Farm Services – the latter with its recently-announced acquisition of F G Adamson & Son – grow to continue the excellent service level customers in the region currently experience.

James Moore, Golf and Grass Business Director for Farol, said: “Farol is a business at the cutting edge of innovation in turfcare and our staff are experts in providing the products, support and after sales service that groundscare professionals need from a brand like John Deere. We are looking forward to building on the excellent service John Deere customers have experienced in the region.”

Geoff Brown, Managing Director of Ripon Farm Services, said: “It is an extremely exciting time for Ripon Farm Services. We will soon complete the acquisition of FG Adamson & Son to give us the turf expertise required to provide sales and support across this new territory and look forward to this next chapter in our growth.”

Kubota announces further expansion

Kubota announces further expansion: Kubota (UK) Ltd is pleased to announce that Vincent Tractors & Plant has further widened its geographical area, reaching north east from its existing Devon and Cornwall locations with a new depot in Wellington, Somerset.

This progressive extension of the Vincent’s sales area and customer base sees the dealership expand into parts of Somerset, and north and east Devon with a fourth depot to support agricultural and groundcare customers throughout the South West of England.

“Vincent Tractors & Plant’s expansion continues to strengthen Kubota’s commitment to its customers and the markets in which our business operates,” says Henry Bredin, general manager of Kubota (UK)’s Tractor Business Unit. “This strategic expansion sees the Vincent family continue to develop its partnership with Kubota, as it actively supports a wider customer base in both agricultural and groundcare sectors.”

The additional depot complements existing locations in Holsworthy, north Devon, plus Smithaleigh near Plympton in south Devon, and the company’s headquarters in Fraddon, Cornwall. From Wellington, the company will provide sales, parts, service and support for the Kubota tractor and implement ranges, and Kubota groundcare equipment.

As Vincent Tractors & Plant’s newest Kubota centre, the Wellington depot officially opened its doors to customers on Thursday November 10th and includes extensive stores, showroom and workshop facilities, along with generous yard space that provides opportunities for growth as the business moves forward.

Easily accessed from J26 of the M5 and the north Devon link-road, the dealership is able to support customers in north Devon and Somerset, reaching north to Bridgwater, and east towards Axminster.

Serving agriculture, construction and grounds maintenance sectors across Cornwall for more than 50 years, the business that was started by Ken and Esme Vincent has recently welcomed third generation family members Alec and Nick Vincent into the fold. The brothers’ arrival, combined with ongoing business expansion – both geographically and with a diverse range of equipment – puts the dealership in a strong position to continue growing its customer base.

“We’re pleased to be a part of this exciting journey with Kubota, but just as importantly, we’re looking forward to welcoming new and existing agricultural and groundcare customers through the doors at Wellington,” says sales director Nick Vincent.

Kubota announces further expansion

Kubota announces further expansion: Kubota (UK) Ltd is pleased to announce that George Browns Ltd has opened a new depot. Located in Witney, West Oxfordshire, this new site creates a wider spread of dealership locations across its sales area, that better meets the needs of its customers.

Essentially a depot relocation, the opening of the Witney branch has seen George Browns’ groundcare-only Haddenham depot close its doors to enable the development of this latest full-line tractor dealership in West Oxfordshire.

“Geographically, our new depot in West Oxfordshire puts George Browns and Kubota within easier reach for many more customers,” explains Steve Brown, managing director of George Browns. “This is another strategic move for our long-term business partnership with Kubota, to grow the groundcare and agricultural machinery aspects of the business.”

As a result of good infrastructure in west Oxfordshire, the new site offers easy access for customers and more usable space for the workshops – both internally and externally. Longer term, the plan is to employ a total of 12 staff at the depot, and the business is keen to encourage an uptake of apprentices across the business, for parts and service roles.

“It’s great to be part of the local economy, by bringing business and job creation into the area,” says George Browns’ group sales manager for agriculture, James Gibbins. “And as a full-line depot, Witney will be providing sales, service, parts and support for the Kubota tractor and implement ranges, in addition to Kubota groundcare equipment.”

Henry Bredin, general manager of Kubota (UK)’s Tractor Business Unit, fully supports the relocation.

“We’re delighted that George Browns continues to develop its partnership with Kubota,” he says. “This new depot is a tactical move that actively supports a wider customer base in both agricultural and groundcare sectors, across the Browns’ area.”

George Browns’ Witney location complements existing depots in Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Essex, with the Chesham and Buckingham branches now supporting those existing groundcare customers who used the former Haddenham site.
