GreenMech’s EVO series has gone on to set the industry standard for torque, bite and throughput, with chippers to suit all professional applications, environments and needs of the modern arborist. 2024 sees the introduction of a turntable model to deliver maximum flexibility in machine positioning for safe and efficient operation.

The EVO 205TT includes all of the features now synonymous with the range, such as a wide in-feed chute and horizontal rollers to offer higher productivity and a smooth flow of material together with a heavy flywheel which produces unparalleled processing power for a machine of its size. It also incorporates GreenMech’s unique disc-blade chipping technology, with six blades per flywheel providing an accurate slicing action and an expected life of over 900 hours per set.

At the heart of the EVO 205TT is a Stage V Kubota 50hp diesel engine which, in combination with GreenMech’s ‘Smart Sense’ controller, delivers powerful performance with optimised fuel consumption.

Customers can also benefit from a package of flexible finance options and the support of GreenMech’s nationwide dealer network, on hand to provide local advice and expertise in both sales and aftersales support.

The technical team will be on-hand across the two days to discuss this, alongside other machines from the GreenMech portfolio – including the EVO 165P and ECO 135 which will also be on show. In addition, anyone wishing to see the EVO 205 SURE-Trak in action will be able to do so on demo plot D09.

Following the formation of the new strategic subsidiary at the end of 2023, it’s been a busy few months for the FSI UK team, establishing a nationwide network of dealer partners to provide expert advice, sales and support across the FSI range. The Arb Show 2024 will bring together a number of these new distribution partners alongside a wide selection of machines.

As the world’s only dedicated stump grinder manufacturer, FSI provides the solution for stumps of all shapes and sizes, in all situations and on all types of terrain. The FSI B31 promises to be one of many stand highlights. At just 74cm, this narrow-access tracked stump grinder is ideal for sites with restricted access, promising powerful performance with enhanced manoeuvrability, stability and a low centre of gravity. The hydraulic drive of the cutting head all-but eliminates daily maintenance, reducing operating costs and resulting in less time in the workshop and more in the field.

Another popular model with professional arborists is the FSI B21. This easy-to-operate pedestrian unit features a 14hp engine and pivoting cutter arm, delivering a 90cm sweep and cutting depth down to 25cm below ground.

Visitors to stand E10/E11 will also have the opportunity to enter an exclusive Arb Show competition for the chance to win a free 3-month hire of an FSI B21 stump grinder! Full details, terms & conditions can be found by speaking to the FSI UK technical team on hand across the two days.

Aspen return to The Arb Show

Aspen return to The Arb Show: Highlighting the benefits of ethanol-free alkylate fuel for machinery, people and the planet, Aspen will be back at The Arb Show on stand A08, as it returns to Westonbirt Arboretum this May.

Celebrating 35 years as pioneers of alkylate fuel during 2023, Aspen are delighted to be extending their ‘Experience the Difference’ trial – giving businesses the opportunity to use the 2 and 4-stroke fuel risk-free and discover the improvements for themselves… or get their money-back!

Being free from ethanol, benzene and most other hazardous hydrocarbons found in traditional pump petrol, Aspen Fuel powers a cleaner, greener workstyle for many leading landscape, arboriculture and ground care professionals. The cleaner burn achieved with Aspen not only makes for a more pleasant operator environment, but engine performance is maintained without many of the costly reliability issues associated with component failure – particularly when equipment is left for extended periods in storage.

Concerns around the cost or logistics can often delay the decision to make the switch to Aspen which triggered the ‘Experience the Difference’ offer, meaning business owners can trial the fuel without incurring any additional cost. “We typically find that most companies overestimate their total annual fuel consumption” explains Business Development Manager Axel Hildebrand. “Through this initiative, people discover the simple accounting and all the sustainability benefits of protecting equipment, operators and the surrounding environment that makes Aspen an option too good to ignore.”

One of those who knows how advantageous Aspen can be is Tony Gascoyne who has been using Aspen Alkylate fuel in his business, The Arborist Limited, since 2016. Tony, along with the Aspen team, will be on stand A08 across the two days to answer any visitor questions and discuss his own first-hand experience of using Aspen in his day-to-day tree management operation.

Jensen Success At Arb Show

Jensen Success At Arb Show: The team behind the UK distribution of Jensen woodchippers, the world’s first and original woodchippers developed in 1884, were delighted to host a stand at the 2019 Arb Show this month.

With a prominent stand overlooking the entrance, Jensen woodchippers were on full display to several thousand visitors that attended over the course of the two-day event, drawing in crowds of interested people and resulting in a large number of demonstration bookings throughout the country.

Jensen Success At Arb Show

Jensen are known for supplying the widest range of woodchippers in the industry, from 6” to 12” capacity; towed, PTO, tracked and hydraulically-adjustable ‘Spider’ tracks; as well as turntable functionality on all 8” and above machines.

A wide variety of Jensen machinery was available to see at the show, including towed and tracked machines, having both petrol and diesel models on display.

The 6” capacity, diesel A530L woodchipper is road-towable at less than 750kg, which made it one of the most popular machines on the stand from interested tree surgeons and arborists looking for a powerful but lightweight all-round chipper.

Similarly, the 6” A530L, petrol version, at under 700kg fully braked attracted much attention on the stand. With a 35hp Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine, and electronic safety touch-sensors fitted as standard, the A530L offers power, performance and safety in a practical sized machine.

Always one of the machines to draw a crowd is the Jensen A540 Spider, and at this year’s Arb Show it was no different.

Capable of tackling timber up to 190mm effortlessly, the A540 with Spider tracks is designed for embankments and awkward terrain.

Agile and manoeuvrable, visitors to the stand were impressed to learn about the stability benefits of the A540 Spider, which features independently adjustable hydraulic tracks both horizontally and vertically.

Visitors to the stand were varied with hugely interesting careers and equipment requirements, from independent tree surgeons looking for a single woodchipper for daily tasks through to large, crane-fed machines for highway and railway maintenance.

“This is the third year we’ve attended the Arb Show with Jensen and we were delighted with not only the turn out to the event but the huge level of interest in the brand”, says Bill Johnston, Head of Machinery Imports division and Business Manager for Jensen in the UK.

He continues, “It was excellent to meet a large number of existing Jensen owners who were pleased to share their experience of Jensen machinery with us, as well as a whole host of new customers booking on-site demonstrations.”

“We’re looking forward to seeing lots of those visitors again over the coming weeks, giving them the opportunity to try a Jensen for themselves and experience the power and performance of the world’s original woodchippers.”

The Jensen dealer for Wales, Riverlea, supported the stand at the show and was represented by Sales Manager Paul Austin.

“This was my first time at the Arb Show and I found it very interested. We were pleased to speak to visitors and leave at the end of the show with some leads, which I hope will generate some more sales for Jensen over the coming months.”

Först Arb Show Preview

Först Arb Show Preview: Först, a leading supplier of high performance and robust woodchippers, will be at this year’s Arb Show at Westonbirt National Arboretum, where it will be showcasing its latest fuel efficient, petrol powered machines.

At the heart of the stand will be Först’s ST6 P woodchipper, a six-inch capacity machine that is powered by a 37hp V twin petrol engine, meaning the woodchipper not only weighs under 750kg, but also meets Stage V emissions regulations coming into force in 2019.

Powered by the same engine, the TR6 P will also be showcased on stand, highlighting the efficiency benefits of the new petrol driven fleet and how the woodchippers can match the strength and performance users have some to expect from Först’s diesel powered machines.

Doug Ghinn, Director at Först, said: “We are very excited to be exhibiting our new petrol woodchippers in support of our established ranges as this allows tree surgeons and contractors to see up close the exceptional performance, reliability and true value our machines can deliver.

“The Arb Show is a highlight on our event calendar and offers everyone from trade professionals through to those simply just starting their arboriculture career a fantastic opportunity to lean more about all aspects of the industry.”

Visitors to the stand will also be able to get a close look at Först’s extensive range of established wheeled, tracked and PTO woodchippers. These include the XR8 Traxion, a powerful and exceptionally versatile woodchipper specifically designed to traverse banks and slopes up to 35 degrees with ease, and the PT6, which has its own hydraulic system and reservoir, meaning the machine doesn’t need to be connected to a power unit’s hydraulic system.
