David Fisher, Area Sales Manager (Groundcare) for George Browns Ltd was the recipient of ‘UK Salesperson of the Year 2023’. On collecting his award, David commented, “I’d like to thank all of my customers for the ongoing trust they have in myself and George Browns Ltd. 2023 was a great year and I look forward to continuing this positivity into 2024!”

Henderson Grass Machinery, Baroness distributors for central and East Scotland, were recognised for achieving the ‘Highest Machinery Sales Growth on previous year (2022-2023)’. The Henderson’s sales team received their award from Richard Connell, Baroness U.K. Area Sales & Service Manager for Scotland.

Completing the awards, and collecting the accolade for ‘Highest Overall Sales for 2023’, was Lister Wilder. Presented by Baroness U.K. Area Sales Manager Luke Collins to the Lister Wilder Groundcare Sales Team in attendance, a spokesperson said, “It’s fantastic to receive this award. The huge growth that both Lister Wilder and Baroness have seen over the last five years is proof that we have become a ‘go-to’ choice for golf, sports and other fine turf customers.”

Adam Butler, Director for Baroness U.K. adds, “The Baroness Dealer Awards provide a superb stage to showcase the hard work and dedication that our multi-branch dealers continue to deliver. Baroness are proud to produce world leading machinery, for which we strive for world leading backup and support – that’s what we have and that’s what we will continue to build on, day-to-day and year-to-year. From the whole Baroness U.K team, we’d like to extend a big thank you to our dealers and customers alike for their continued support.”

Baroness and Kubota team up at BTME

Baroness and Kubota team up at BTME: Stand 624 at BTME 2024 is set to be a platform for Japanese excellence as Baroness and Kubota team up once again to showcase a vast array of equipment solutions critical to successful fine turf maintenance.

Particular highlights are set to include the all-hydraulic LM311 Baroness greens and tees mower and the Kubota FC out-front centre-collect mower – both designed to deliver uncompromising performance, efficiency and outstanding versatility.

Featuring the superior cutting performance and comfort synonymous with the Baroness brand, the LM311 all-hydraulic triplex mower delivers precision for cutting tasks around the golf course. At its heart is an economic 17hp Kubota diesel engine, providing reliability in performance and powering the precision demanded to deliver pristine greens and tees.

Beside the LM311 will be the new LM351 four-wheel drive triplex mower which features ‘series circuit drive system’, enabling a smaller turning radius and superior climbing performance – making the LM351 ideal for the mowing of banks and surrounds. On show in Harrogate for the first time, the LM351 will be joined by other Baroness products including the FS900 core collector and a selection of rollers from the AgriMetal range.

For Kubota, the highly productive FC3 and FC4 out-front centre-collect mower range will be making a popular return. The FC3-261, and larger FC4-501, feature a high-capacity hopper and ‘floating’ out-front flail deck which promises to conform to undulating ground, offering an effective solution to cut and collect tasks around the golf course including rough and heather management.

Innovation will be visible across the Kubota portfolio, in particular in the recent expansion of their electric offering – with both the LXe-261 electric compact tractor and Ze series of electric zero-turn mowers making their BTME debut. Combining high-quality cut performance with enhanced operator comfort through reduced noise and vibration levels, the Ze promises to be a productive and more environmentally-conscious choice, ideal for local authorities and contractors.

Visitors looking for further information on any of the Baroness and Kubota products are encouraged to speak with the technical teams, on hand on stand 624, across the three days.

Centurion Club thank George Browns and Baroness

Centurion Club thank George Browns and Baroness: Having been machinery partners to Hertfordshire’s Centurion Club for a number of years, George Browns recently played a pivotal role in the successful delivery of the LIV Golf League London event in early July.

The supply of additional equipment and service training was the result of six months of intricate planning between Course Manager Andrew Garland, Stuart Gray from Baroness and David Fisher, Area Sales Manager at George Browns’ Chesham branch. The result, says Andrew, was “outstanding support and a perfect playing surface from start to finish!”

Nestled into rural countryside to the west of St Albans, the Centurion Club delivers a mixture of open, undulating holes combined with challenging woodland-lined holes, delivering a feeling of maturity to the club which opened to members and the public in 2013. “Our relationship with George Browns was cemented roughly four years ago after we fell victim to the theft of our tees mowers” explains Andrew. “David lent us their demonstration Baroness mowers to get us out of a really tricky situation at the time, and the team ended up liking the mowers that much that we purchased them! Since then, any time we’re in the market for a new machine, we’ll get David in and nine times out of ten, that’s the machine we purchase.”

Andrew and his team of 12 currently run a fleet of Kubota tractors and RTV utility vehicles, three fairway and four tees mowers from Baroness along with a Redexim Top-Brush and Verti-Drain – all supplied by the Chesham depot of George Browns.

“We started preparing for the LIV Golf League event in January. I sat down with Stuart and David to draw up a list of what we’d need – not just extra equipment but ensuring that the machinery already in the shed was performing as it should. My team received excellent service training in the run-up to July to get the fairway mowers in tip-top condition, and my mechanic was then advised on the correct way to grind them and set them up.”

In addition to training, George Browns also loaned the club a triple greens mower, four extra Baroness hand tee mowers, a rough mower and an aprons machine. “We had six additional team members from the Turf Institute of South Africa and a further ten volunteers who all had to get stuck in and straight out with the equipment. All of them found the machines easy to use and were particularly impressed by the quality of cut.” Andrew concludes, “All of this, together with the support provided throughout the event, helped the whole tournament run smoothly.”

Commenting on the relationship, David Fisher says, “It has been a real privilege to work closely with our franchises to maximise the knowledge we could provide to Andrew and his team in what promises to be a celebratory decade year for the club. All at George Browns congratulate Centurion Club on the tournament, and we look forward to continuing to build on this success.”

Stuart Gray adds, “It’s been great working with Andy and his fantastic team and supporting them through the LIV tournaments in both 2022 and 2023, cementing the level of support Baroness and its dealers are proud to deliver to the industry.”
