Makita releases its new cordless chainsaw

Makita releases its new cordless chainsaw: Makita has released its new professional cordless UC030G 40VMax 500mm Brushless XGT® Chainsaw, designed for demanding cutting tasks where reliability, durability and high performance are essential.

Built to deliver petrol-like power, equal to or greater than that of a 50cc-class chainsaw, it features fast chain speeds and practical safety enhancements, making it suitable for professional forestry work.

With efficient brushless motor technology, three chain speed modes and a maximum cutting speed of 29.0 m/s, the new UC030G offers outstanding control and the power needed to take on tough hardwoods such as oak and ash. The chainsaw is available as part of the UC030GE101 kit which features the BL4080H 8.0Ah XGT® tabless battery and the DC40RA XGT® battery charger, or as the body only (UC030GZ).

Since the tool runs without petrol, it minimises professionals’ contact with petrol fumes and significantly cuts noise and vibration levels. Additionally, thanks to its brushless motor, the tool provides more power and longer runtime compared to a brushed motor. With fewer components inside the motor, there is also a reduced risk of wear, which could otherwise result in costly repairs.

Additionally, the UC030G is designed to work safer. For example, when the tool locks as a result of excessive load, removing the load will allow the motor to restart immediately if the trigger is held down, enabling the user to continue to make the same cut without the need to retrigger and lift the saw.

Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita UK commented: “The new UC030G offers an ideal solution for landscaping professionals. To maximise the tool’s power, it is recommended that the tool is used alongside the BL4080H 8.0Ah XGT® – the largest capacity tabless battery offered by Makita. As a result of its increased capacity and high output, the battery enables more efficient energy transfer to improve the tool’s performance.”

Makita’s cordless power washer

Makita’s cordless power washer: Leading power tool manufacturer Makita UK has added the new cordless HW001G XGT High Pressure Washer, to its high performance 40VMax XGT range.

An ideal solution for trade professionals working with no access to mains power, it provides exceptional mobility combined with a reliable and regular flow rate and pressure, facilitated by three different operation modes.

The new 40VMax HW001G XGT Brushless High Pressure Washer offers a powerful performance akin to corded washers, with a maximum permissible pressure of 11.5 MPa. Three operational modes allow users the flexibility to control the pressure depending on the difficulty of the cleaning task at hand – whether it is light washing right through to the toughest clean required for building exteriors or farming machinery.

The advantage of the Makita XGT battery operation means that when fully charged, the washer can be used for either 60 minutes in the basic Mode 1, 30 minutes in Mode 2 and 18 minutes in the hardest working – Mode 3. The washer can perform with just one battery or with two in parallel, allowing you to keep on working even when one of the batteries needs charging.

The HW001G is self-priming, and water can be supplied from a tap, bucket or tank. A handy trigger lock function also keeps the water running without needing to be constantly squeezed.

As trade professionals would expect from Makita, key design features make it a practical option. Weighing only 8.5kg, a telescopic handle allows the height to be adjusted to 520mm, meaning it is simple to store. With large 140mm wheels, it is also easy to transport and manoeuvre, even on difficult terrain. In addition, rubber stoppers secure the washer in place on small slopes.

Finally, the washer is available with a wide range of accessories, including a cyclone jet nozzle, 2 XGT 5.0Mpa batteries, a battery charger, connector set, trigger gun, strainer, extension set and high pressure hose, allowing the user to reach and efficiently clean a variety of surfaces.

Makita also supplies optional, additional accessories for the machine, such as a variospray nozzle set, a foam nozzle set, a variospray lance set and a variospray lance extension set.

Kevin Brannigan, Makita’s UK Marketing Manager commented: “Our new Cordless HW001G High Pressure Washer is compact, portable and powerful – everything a trade professional or user might need, with both the freedom and safety of being battery powered. It’s a great bit of kit.”

Cobra expands cordless offering

Cobra expands cordless offering: Following extensive customer demand, Cobra has introduced a new model to its ever-popular 24-volt range of battery-powered equipment.

The cordless range, which currently consists of a GT3024V  Grass Trimmer, LB45024V Leaf Blower, CS1024V Chainsaw, and H5024V  Hedgetrimmer with a range of 50cm, has been expanded with the introduction of the new HT50LRH24V Long Reach Hedgetrimmer (RRP £134.99).

Cobra’s current cordless hand tool ranges are powered by both 24-volt or 40-volt models, with the 24v collection proving to be incredibly popular with gardeners. Compact, reasonably priced yet powerful, the range is ideal for gardeners with typical sized gardens and those looking for a tool that’s simple and easy to use.

The brand’s new Long Reach Hedgetrimmer is designed to tackle the most awkward jobs, with the versatility to change from a standard 50cm cutting length to the longreach option. The extension pole simply clicks into the main body of the tool before attaching the standard hedgetrimmer blade, granting an additional metre to help reach taller hedges. To further aid this, it also has an articulating head that moves through 90 degrees, with a dual handle switch, and is light and easy to use weighing just 3.34kg.

It has a double-sided reciprocating precision cutting blade with a tooth spacing of 20mm, along two-speed modes (eco and turbo), making hedge shaping and tidying even easier. Not only that, but all the tools in the 24v range operate off the same interchangeable battery, meaning buyers no longer need to worry about finding a plug socket or tripping over wires, all while powering one tool from one battery.

Peter Chaloner, managing director of Cobra, said: “We are continuously looking for ways to expand the 24v range, creating more commercial opportunities for dealers and providing gardeners with useful, compact tools that stand the test of time. Our standard 50cm hedgetrimmer has proven to be very popular with buyers, but we noticed that many gardeners required a model with a longer reach – so we knew we wanted to create a product to fill that gap in the market. The demand for cordless tools continues to grow, as people seek convenient, hassle-free options.”

Cobra is the leading name in garden machinery and has the UK’s largest range of powered lawnmowers. For further information about Cobra, please visit www.cobragarden.co.uk.

Moreover, the enhanced MSA 220 now comes as standard with a 3/8P pitch, 1.1mm gauge PS3 PRO chain, which improves cutting performance by up to 20% due to its narrower kerf. The new chain has been specifically designed for use with STIHL’s new Light 04 1.1mm guide bar, allowing more cuts to be made per battery charge. The MSA 160 C-B and MSA 200 C-B feature a 1/4P chain for smooth and precise cuts.

All three new models have seen numerous upgraded operational features introduced to improve the user experience. These include improved visibility of the chain oil level for faster checks, a thumb lever and OPC starting switch for increased comfort and safety, as well as a soft rubberised grip and optimally balanced handle position for maximum control and comfort.

In addition, all new models feature quick chain tensioning for fast and tool-less replacement or tensioning of the chain, as well as bayonet style oil tank caps which can be opened quickly and easily while wearing gloves.

All the new saws are compatible with the STIHL Smart Connectors, part of the STIHL Connected fleet management system. Smart Connectors record and transmit the working time of the tool to the user’s smartphone, giving prompts to complete important maintenance tasks exactly when they’re required.

STIHL launches first backpack cordless blower

STIHL launches first backpack cordless blower: STIHL has launched its first cordless backpack blower for professional users, offering high performance and a significantly less disruptive sound thanks to its innovative STIHL Noise Reduction System.

With a maximum blowing force of 26 newton, STIHL’s new BGA 300 cordless backpack blower is the most powerful in the STIHL cordless range and features a high air speed to ensure even wet, heavy autumn leaves can be cleared quickly and efficiently. The new cordless blower is powered using STIHL’s professional AP System AR 2000 L or AR 3000 L backpack batteries.

Thanks to the STIHL Noise Reduction System, the BGA 300 produces fewer high pitch frequencies often associated with cordless blowers, meaning operation is much more pleasant and less intrusive for bystanders. Thanks to this, the BGA 300 is well suited for use in noise-sensitive areas such as schools, parks or around public amenities.

The maximum blowing force can be selected from three power setting options via the selector switch, allowing for efficient energy management and longer runtimes. Boost mode may also be selected to provide maximum power for the toughest clearing jobs. Furthermore, the new cordless blower features an LED power display and cruise control function to enable simple energy management and comfort.

For the optimum blowing angle, the BGA 300 boasts a curved nozzle as standard, and the blower tube length can easily be adjusted to meet different requirements and operating situations. A straight nozzle is also available as an accessory.

The BGA 300 is exceptionally easy to handle thanks to its slim design and comfortable carrying system that optimally distributes the weight of the backpack device and reduces the strain on the user when used for long periods.

Other features include wide feet for secure footing whilst on the ground, a hook for the blower tube for easy transport and storage, as well as compatibility with the Smart Connector 2 A.
