Two new dealers for Corvus 4×4

Two new dealers for Corvus 4×4: Corvus 4×4 off-road utility vehicle specialists BOSS ORV have announced the appointment of two new dealers. Laird Grass Machinery has become the first Corvus dealer for Northern Ireland and Brassington Agri, near Bridgenorth, is the new dealer for the Shropshire area.

Laird, which is situated in Ballycarry, Carrickfergus, contacted Corvus following a conversation with Scottish dealers, Ravenhill, and were sent a Terrain Diesel 4×4 utility as a trial vehicle. No sooner had it arrived than a customer wanted to buy it. Laird chose the Terrain for being rugged and well-built for agricultural use with good ground clearance. It also benefits from being classed as a Stage V emission compliant homologated Diesel tractor, and therefore suitable for on-road use. It is ideally suited as well, say Laird, to their public authorities and council market. Phil Everett, Managing Director at Boss, who made the announcement on LinkedIn, said,

“A big Corvus welcome to David Laird and the team. With their vast experience in the UTV market, combined with the exceptional all-round ability of the latest Corvus Terrain range of UTVs, it’s bound to be a winning combination.”

Duncan Brassington Agri Sales and Service was established in 2014 in the heart of Shropshire by Duncan Brassington, who has over thirty years’ experience of all aspects of agricultural machinery. Brassingtons provide servicing and repair for tractors and agricultural machinery together with sales of new and good quality tractors, farm machinery and equipment. They will be selling and supporting the TerrainDX4 EPS, TerrainDX4 PRO EPS and TerrainDX4 CAB EPS.

“A big welcome to Duncan and the team,” says Phil, “they base their business on 100% commitment to their customers’ needs and are therefore an ideal fit as a Corvus dealer. Welcome to both dealers to the Corvus family”

All the above mentioned Terrain models are homologated as a T1a and T1b diesel tractor and have a top speed of 40mph/65kp/h. Corvus is building the Terrain for work primarily in agriculture, livestock, forestry, turf care and construction but they are highly adaptable vehicles ready for any demanding off-road workout.

Wiedenmann dealers introduce STrac 700

Wiedenmann dealers introduce STrac 700: Occasionally an ingeniously simple machine comes along which becomes instantly indispensable. Welcome the Maredo STrac 700, a pedestrian power unit which supports four different groundcare operations – scarifying, aeration, seeding and fraise mowing with more to come.

The ‘access-all-areas’ STrac 700 is light, fast and versatile. Suddenly, even on difficult undulations, there is scope to provide uniformity of care and presentation across a whole site. It can be used on all turf surfaces from bowling greens to full size pitches and for challenging areas like the collars of a golf course, or, where a tractor is too heavy.

Brought to you via your local Wiedenmann UK dealer, the STrac 700 has easy controls on the guiding handle and a set of inter-changeable heads. A very short turning radius means the rear wheels can adopt  a variety of operating positions, while the tools connect effortlessly, cassette style.

Maredo offers four tool types each purchased separately with working widths of 65 cm:

  • The ST200 Flex-Verticutter scarifies to 25 mm using carbide tipped blades with tool free adjustment. The blades counter rotate against the direction of travel so material is lifted tidily out the way rather than dragged into the slits.
  • To relieve compaction down to 60 mm in stressed turf, the ST210 Vibe-Spike Aerator allows for expert following of undulations or making curves as required. Unlike conventional spike aerators, the spike tools vibrate to crack the soil, punching holes to let air and nutrients through.
  • The ST170 FlexFrase-Mower targets problem areas by stripping off the top layer of turf to a maximum depth of 20 mm, leaving a perfectly flat and smooth surface ready to overseed. It is also ideal for removing bumps and undulations on goal mouths, tee boxes and gardens.
  • Finally, the ST418 VibeDisc-Seeder head uses unique technology to plant the seed right where it should be and protect it against all kinds of outside influences. This is a slit seeder which can dose seed from 0 to -15 mm at as low as 2 g/m ² to 15 g / m². The seed box contains up to 6 kg of seed with disc seeder slit spacings at 42 mm. Coming soon is a new dimple seeder head which will create a pattern of dimples where the seeds will be placed.

Rob Hogarth, former Course Manager of Remedy Oak, the England top 100 club in Dorset, and now Regional Sales Manager of Fairways GM, has demonstrated the STrac units extensively since they arrived in the UK.

He said: “The STrac 700 is revolutionary.  When I think back on worrying about transitions and worn collars, I would have traded my left arm for the scarifier and seeder cartridges. The YouTube videos of the STrac in action don’t do it justice.

“The wheel positions are insanely good. Literally, you put the rear wheels where they do their best work, so put them beside the pull along handle, at the back or a combination.  It just means you guide and pivot the STrac into virtually any position, so up close to edges, on changing levels, really, anywhere… Right now, clubs across the country are in the middle of renovations. The beauty of the STrac set up to fraise mow, is how it goes around sprinkler heads.  I don’t think I’ve seen a neater job.

“In the US, these are painted orange as a Wiedenmann machine, while over here they still have the Maredo label.  You just need to go through your Wiedenmann UK dealer to see them.

“Maredo has really thought these out. Hydrostatic front wheel drive and 9 Hp mean they are manoeuvrable and fast. Whatever head you choose is mechanically PTO driven and hydraulically lifted.  They go forward at a decent walking speed of 6 km/hr and 4 km/hr if you go backwards. The factory has more heads for more operations in development. The versatile size and carbide blades make the STrac 700 unlike anything else.”

The much-coveted Dealer of the Year Award for Excellence in Customer Support is awarded to Lloyd Ltd. While Cheshire Turf Machinery in Stockport was awarded for Outstanding Service, Lloyd Ltd for Outstanding Skills and Revill Mowers in Gloucestershire for Outstanding Parts.

David Jackman, Reesink’s operations manager, says: “As a distributor, we are focussed on the way we communicate with our customers and the way we deal with customer support. It’s why we work closely with our dealers and delight in awarding those who do more to offer the very best in customer service.”

Reflecting on the win, groundcare service manager Glen McVittie at Lloyd Ltd, says: “Winning these awards is a real reflection of our team and their hard work. At Lloyd Ltd, we are committed to both investing in our staff to realise their full potential and offering our customers the best possible service and results. We are thrilled to have had that recognised by Reesink and to have come away with the top prize for Dealer of the Year and the award for Skills.”

Runners up in the categories are The Mowershop in Northamptonshire for Service, Oliver Landpower in Hertfordshire for Skills, RedTech Machinery in Coventry for Parts and Cheshire Turf Machinery for Excellence in Customer Support.

Reesink awards those dealers achieving the best scores in keeping with its Service Level Agreement (SLA), which benchmarks great customer service. Rated on quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPI), within each of the three sections, the Dealer of the Year Award combines the KPI scores from all three.

David explains more about the scheme: “Over the years, we have continued to invest in our customer service and especially so in our after sales offering. One of the ways we showcase to our customers the quality of Reesink’s service is through our Service Level Agreement, which is adopted by all our Authorised Service and Dealer Locations. With this, customers can be sure that our excellent dealer network reflects Reesink’s core customer service standards, goals and considerations, and these awards are further proof of that.”

Mark Woodward, service director at Cheshire Turf Machinery, says: “By committing to following Reesink UK’s service level agreement, our service department has been elevated to the next level. To see the result of that acknowledged by winning the award for Service and finishing as the runner up for Dealer of the Year is extremely pleasing and a strong testament to the hard work of our after sales team.”

As a leading UK distributor of top turfcare brands, delivering excellence on all fronts, and particularly when it comes to customer service, is paramount to Reesink – and doing so with all its business partners is vital, concludes David: “Over the years, we have continued to invest in our customer service and especially so in our after sales offering and to see that represented by the dealers so brilliantly means we are achieving in our goal to keep on improving the overall experience for all our customers.”

New Terrain for UK ORV dealers

New Terrain for UK ORV dealers: BOSS ORV the distributor of Corvus, Europe’s first manufacturer of 4×4 utility vehicles, has completed the first stage of dealer development in the UK.

The landmark prompted a tour of dealers by Juan Jose Bernal-Quiros, Corvus Innova S.L. Managing Director and the Spanish company’s Export Director, Gabriel Motos. Accompanied by Phil Everett, BOSS ORV’s Managing Director, their visit began in Scotland at Kelso based Frank Gibson ATVs. Here they learned the dealer had had a gap in their product portfolio for a good quality Diesel SxS UTV. After extensive research, they chose Corvus to fill the gap due to the off-road performance, a particularly important factor in the challenging terrain of the Scottish Borders. BOSS ORV is distributing and supporting three Corvus models, the TerrainDX4 EPS, TerrainDX4 PRO EPS and TerrainDX4 CAB EPS. They feature a Euro 6 compliant 3-cylinder 993cc Yanmar Diesel engine which gives excellent fuel efficiency and range. The Terrain is homologated to T1b tractor regulation and has a top speed of 40mph/65kp/h.

After parting company with John Deere in an earlier re-structure, Johnston Tractors of Carlisle and Appleby were also looking for a quality UTV to add to their product line up. Howard Johnston told the Corvus visitors: “after thoroughly testing the Corvus product we decided it was the perfect vehicle to add to our range and we have not in any way been disappointed with Corvus quality and performance.”

The third dealership visited by the Corvus management was Tom Taylor ATV in York. Managing Director, Tom Taylor, says “ After seeing the Corvus Terrain DX4 on the ATV Services Scotland stand at last year’s Royal Highland Show and a good chat with Phil Everett, we decided to request a demo unit to enable us to properly evaluate the product on local land and to look at in more depth in our workshop. The whole team agreed that it was a very well- built unit using high-quality components and in particular the latest Yanmar Diesel engine. After this intensive evaluation, we had absolutely no qualms about adding the Corvus products to our product portfolio.”

Murray Boss of Ace ATV also arranged a customer visit for the Corvus directors where they learned the Terrain had been chosen due to an impressive demonstration and the fact it has the ability to take a full-sized pallet in the rear cargo box.
