Eliet launch revolutionary overseeder

Eliet launch revolutionary overseeder: Leading Belgium manufacturer Eliet have announced the launch of an innovative new overseeding machine, the  DZC450, a more compact counterpart to the popular DZC overseeder.

Over recent years, there has been continued demand for growth maintenance and renovation solutions. With the launch of the popular DZC 600 Overseeder, Eliet have firmly established themselves as an industry leader, and the patented overseeding concept for the ELIET DZC 600 has been showered with innovation awards. In response to customer analysis and demand, the manufacturer identified a requirement for an even more compact, cost effective, entry-level model.

Smaller than the DZC 600, the DZC 450 is highly effective machine and is designed to make overseeding more accessible. With a usable width of 45 cm, the DZC450 is lighter and more compact that it’s “big brother”, with dimensions that make it perfect for use in smaller and less accessible contemporary gardens.

Just like the DZC 600, this newcomer is equipped with the patented ELIET Helix Seed DuctTM seed distribution system and the residual seed can easily be removed from the machine when the work is complete. The 45 Permanently Sharp BladesTM, with 27mm spacing, ensure perfect performance for overseeding. The DZC450 features an exclusive rubber ejection paddle that efficiently discharges any materials removed by the blades and spreads it evenly as topdressing behind the machine.

Why overseed?

As the years go by, all grass is subject to ageing and scarifying and spraying can help to briefly interrupt the decline, however the only long-term solution is to fully rejuvenate the grass, through overseeding.

During the process, new grass seeds are sown into the existing grass and the germinating seeds fill the open space between the old grass plants with healthy young ones. Enhanced germination is encouraged via the powered rubber roller which immediately follows the seed distribution process and ensures that there is good contact between the soil and the seeds by pressing the earth down.

Overseeding not only restores the diversity of grass varieties, but also increases the plant density and rejuvenates the lawn. Two weeks after the treatment, the grass will look fuller and greener. The lawn’s resistance to drought and pathogens is also much higher and mosses will have practically no chance anymore. An overseeding treatment is the quickest and cheapest way of giving grass a total make-over.

With the Eliet DZC overseeders you can renovate tired and thin grass in no time at all. This inexpensive alternative can take place quickly and guarantees a visible result in less than a month. The grass will be available for normal use immediately after overseeding which for some customers, including golf clubs, cricket clubs and football clubs, is extremely important.

As with all Eliet machines, operator safety and comfort is key, and the handlebars are fitted with anti-vibration dampers that are variably adjustable to the correct height, while the working depth of the blades can be quickly and easily altered.

The new machine is available from PSD Groundscare through their network of specialist Dealers. PSD Groundscare are the exclusive UK distributor for innovative European manufacturers AS Motor, Eliet, Koppl & TS Industrie.

Eliet Offer New Renovation Solutions

Eliet Offer New Renovation Solutions: As we say goodbye to the last of the summer, thoughts turn to completing turf regeneration before the Autumn sets in.

September is a perfect time to do this, when the weather is damp and cool and turf can quickly establish a strong root system, allowing lawn and turf the best chance of recovery.

Eliet Offer New Renovation Solutions

PSD Groundscare, the national distributor of niche specialist landscaping equipment, has an extensive range of products from market-leading names, including a comprehensive range of specialist lawn and turf care machinery from leading Belgian manufacturer Eliet,  all designed to make turf regeneration more efficient. Two key products are available which are specifically designed to efficiently deal with even the toughest conditions.

The New C550ZR Collector scarifier is an innovative new machine, set to dramatically reduce the time landscapers and groundsmen spend undertaking scarifying operations and disposing of thatch and moss.

It brings a new standard in turf maintenance, collecting moss and thatch into narrow rows for easier disposal, resulting in huge time savings for the operator by reducing the cleaning time by up to 50%.

The C55OZR Collector provides efficient scarification, moss and thatch removal with improved collection. As material is removed from the turf, it is deposited into a discharge channel with an Archimedean screw that carries it to the side of the machine. It is deposited into a narrow row, which on the next pass of the operation can be re-collected by the machine and integrated into a new row, along with the raked-up material from the second strip of turf. In this way the C550ZR can collect the moss and thatch of a 1m working width into one row, which is hugely time saving.

Eliet Offer New Renovation Solutions

This new machine is self-propelled and features an above-average 55cm working width which limits the number of rows to collect, and opreates at 2.5km/hr. The scarifying blades are spaced every 15mm to provide an intensive treatment to the turf and are designed to rotate forwards; thus maximising dethatching performance. This contra-rotation results in improved removal and collection of material which is pulled out and thrown vertically onto the collecting auger, increasing the efficency of dethatching by up to 30%. In addition, the extremely fine blades have Permanently Sharp BladesTM technology to ensure minimum turf damage and extended blade life. The machine also features controls with an anti vibration damper for improved operator comfort and safety.

Once the ground is scarified, then seed needs to be sewn and the Eliet DZC600 Pedestrian Overseeder is the perfect rejuvenation partner and offers impressive results – in a short amount of time. It’s innovative overseeding technology allows new grass seed to be inserted between existing vegetation, scarifying and overseeding in one process allowing faster germination and maximised growth opportunities. In addition, the process is enhanced by the new Tungsten tipped blades, which have been developed to give a clear slot which allows for better seed penetration of the soil, as well as extended life.

The machine offers visible benefits in less than a month and the treated area is available for normal use immediately after the overseeing has taken place. This is the only machine on the market than can achieve this unique renovation technique following a unique six step process.

  1. Cutting open the soil
  2. Removal of excess soil
  3. Precision sowing
  4. Injection
  5. Rollers
  6. Covering the seed

The machine is suitable for all types of grass seed and can be used on both general grass areas, fine turf and sports turf including golf greens.

The Eliet DZC600 has been extensively trialled and tested and is approved by STRI. As the world’s leading sports turf consultancy, STRI provides a state of the art testing and research centre offering innovative testing techniques to improve the quality of turf and sports turf. Carried out at the STRI research facility in Bingley, West Yorkshire, the main objective of the trial was to investigate the optimal configuration of the Eliet DZC600 overseeder for use on a golf green and on tees & surrounds. These environments were specifically chosen as they represent some of the finest sports turf surfaces that require renovation.

STRI said of the machine:  “The DZC600 is effective for sowing in a fine turf environment and offers grounds workers a very useful tool, particularly on small, localised problem areas”.

The Eliet DZC600 Overseeder dramatically increases productivity, via the multi-step system which saves the operator time and money with precision seeding at a pre-determined rate, with the benefit of additional operator comfort and is the ideal turf renovation partner.

Eliet Speeds Up Scarifying

Eliet Speeds Up Scarifying:Leading Belgian manufacturer Eliet have launched an innovative new machine, set to dramatically reduce the time landscapers and groundsmen spend undertaking scarifying operations and disposing of thatch and moss.

The NEW C550ZR Collector brings a new standard in turf maintenance, collecting moss and thatch into narrow rows for easier disposal, resulting in huge time savings for the operator by reducing the cleaning time by up to 50%.

Eliet Speeds Up Scarifying

As every landscaper and gardener knows, mowing the grass is only one small step in maintaining healthy turf. Dehatching is also a key element of lawn care and with the increased use of mulching and robotic mowers, the requirement is now greater than ever. The constant deposit of hard-to-break-down organic material can result in a layer of thatch accumulating within the turf structure. If left undealt with, this will seriously inhibit lawn development and can encourage both invasive species and diseases to develop. Dethatching removes this layer of material and moss from the turf, providing the space for the grass plants to grow and your lawn to flurish.

Eliet have now introduced an effective solution to this issue with the C55OZR Collector, which provides efficient scarification, moss and thatch removal with improved collection. In addition, the extremely fine blades have Permanently Sharp BladesTM technology to ensure minimum turf damage and extended blade life. The machine also features controls with an anti vibration damper for improved operator comfort and safety and runs on a rubber-coated roller that ensures an aesthetically pleasing striped pattern on the lawn.

Gracienne Geenens, Sales Director at Eliet says:

“We’re absolutely delighted to be bringing the C550ZR Collector to the UK market. It’s a fantastic, innovative piece of equipment which will save landscapers both time and money.”

The C550ZR will be available for demonstration during April through UK distributor PSD Groundscare. For more information please contact:
