Barrus to launch new products at Glee: Barrus will be unveiling a range of over 60 new and exciting products under brands Town & Country, Wilkinson Sword, WOLF-Garten, and Velcro® at this year’s Glee (28-30 June, NEC Birmingham) on stand 20D40-E41.

The Barrus stand will showcase the product innovation and development that continues to take place across the brands, as it enters new areas of the industry and develops engaging customer solutions.

The unique and interactive stand will invite visitors to explore the vast range through a variety of different zones, including a greenhouse which takes centre stage on the stand, a planting and propagation area, and a Christmas section, to help promote its innovative products and displays, and support the ongoing movement towards sustainable living.

To meet this growing interest in grow your own, and following the successful launch of its Tiered Planters, Town & Country will be showcasing a new variety of products to aid growing and contemporary planting displays. These include a range of planters and troughs that are made from 100% recycled plastic and are 100% recyclable. They are available in both contemporary and beehive shapes and sizes ranging from 6L to 66L, to appeal to a wide range of audiences.

Buyers interested in propagation will be spoilt for choice, with new Grow Bag & Utility Trays, Potting Trays, a Garden Sieve and Electric Greenhouse Heaters on display – a first for the brand. Also new for Town & Country is a range of brooms, brushes, and indoor and outdoor matts. Alongside this will be a new innovative grab rake that helps to clear and collect with one tool for ease and efficiency.

Town & Country will also be showcasing an eye-catching display of the exciting Pluma range, which takes inspiration from feathers to decorate Cloggies, the Lux-Fit Gloves and the Memory Foam Kneeler and a new addition to the range, the Double-Wide Kneeler.

The stand will also be an opportunity for buyers to see first-hand the ever-popular Ultralight range from Wilkinson Sword. Its newly developed long reach pruner will be a highlight, allowing longer productivity and making pruning those awkward areas easier by using a rotating body and cutting head. Also on the stand will be a new collection of pruner gift sets.

WOLF-Garten will be showcasing its multi-change range as it celebrates its 100th year, and two new hedge shears – Box Tree Shears for shaping and Traditional Hedge Shears.

The Velcro® brand will be showing off its new range of garage and storage solutions, including ties, straps and fasteners, to keep these often cluttered areas neat, tidy and organised.

Westland To Showcase Investment At Glee: Westland will be attending the upcoming Glee show, using the event to strengthen its position and launch its strongest home and garden range with new products and developments across a diverse portfolio.

At the forefront of this will be the unveiling of new products in the New Horizon range with our revolutionary BIO3 additive which is 100% sustainable. BIO3 is the culmination of a £35million investment and unprecedented breakthrough in peat replacement technology.

Simon McArdle from Westland, commented: “BIO3 is the compost for the next generation. It combines wood, premium quality coir and bio fibre to deliver one of the highest quality composts on the market, that just so happens to be peat-free. We’ve been developing this for some time now so we can’t wait to unveil it at Glee”.

Westland will also be celebrating 80 years since the launch of the iconic John Innes. Our newly repositioned range are all based on the original blend, but now are enriched with nutrients and additives reflecting the latest grower technology to ensure improved performance.

Glee also provides Westland opportunity to showcase its position as the most forward thinking and leading lawn brand. Aftercut is launching a new lawn programme that helps overcome the retail challenges of the stable and mature lawncare market. It will be simplifying lawncare regimes and extending the lawn season with new products that can be used in early spring and late autumn. As part of this Westland is launching two new products. The first is AfterCut Ultra Green+, which give a greener and stronger lawn, which prevents moss from growing. The second is Gro Sure Fast Start –  Smart Lawn Seed which utilises aqua gel technology combined with specially bred varieties which to allow the seed to germinate at lower temperatures than previously achieved, allowing gardeners to boost their lawn earlier, and later, in the season than previously possible.

Peckish, which has recently become the fastest growing brand within the bird care market, will be unveiling new products as well as a new look at the show. Packaging has been refined, with 80% of all Peckish food products now being available with a resealable top, and new Squirrel Proof Suet Pellets will be launched as well as additions to the Secret Garden range of decorative planters.

Other highlights include the new Resolva Xtra Clean Path and Patio where consumer insight has guided our brand offering within the category; and the continued development of the Deadfast rodenticide range as a result of a new partnership with the world’s leader in rodent control, Victor; and a celebration of the 32% industry growth of indoor. This growth has led to a 38% increase in sales for Westland’s indoor plant care range which will be boosted by the Glee launch of the new Hydroleca clay granules which absorb water and release as required.

A new look Unwins range will also be on display which sees the launch of four seed new collections and a new Gro-Sure Seed Start, a pre-treatment that can be sprinkled into compost to provide better germination and establishment.

The market-leading Westland straights range is relaunched this year with modern, premium packaging, designed to make it easier to understand what each product does. The aim is to attract new consumers and drive value in this mature market.

Power And Speed For WOLF-Garten At GLEE: WOLF-Garten will be unveiling a variety of new products at Glee, all designed to deliver next level expertise to gardeners whilst boosting convenience.

The first is the RS800V lopper which has the innovative feature of being able to switch between two cutting modes. The V in the name means “Vario” which signifies that the cutting mode can effortlessly change from Speed Cut to Power Cut. When in Speed mode, branches can be tidied quickly courtesy of the small spread angle of the blade. Switch to Power mode to tackle thicker, tougher branches. The lopper has non-stick coated blades for easier cutting and cleaning, and can cut through branches up to 50mm thick. It is designed with gardener comfort in mind so has lightweight aluminium handles with ergonomic soft grips.

The new products will see WOLF-Garten adding lightweight, modern, contemporary usable long handled digging tools to its range with two spades being added. Each priced £54.99, the two spades are made using an induction-hardened boron steel with stiffened grooves which enable them to penetrate the ground without the risk of bending the tool, adding to the durability and longevity of the product. The two options are a straight spade with an ergonomic D-grip handle, and a pointed spade which is best suited for harder, stony soil.

Other new additions to the WOLF-Garten range are two gift sets. The Mini Tool Gift Set contains four products – a pair of bypass secateurs, a trowel, a hand grubber and a scraper – all essentials for any gardener! The second set, the Mini Multi-Change Gift Set, is ideal for smaller gardens and tasks, such as on balconies and terraces or in beds and planters. It has four heads and a handle to offer something for all tasks from planting and loosening to weeding and cleaning with a trowel, small cultivator, small lawn rake and double hoe. It is part of the iconic WOLF-Garten Multi-Change® range and so is compatible with the full system.

The Multi-Change® range is also being extended with two new products. A 4-in-1 leaf rake has been introduced, as well as a gutter cleaner. The leaf rake has three working widths (20cm, 48cm and 76cm), enabling to remove leaves and garden waste from both small and large areas. It can also be dismantled into three parts for easy storage, as well as this the removable head and can be collapsed to be used as a scoop for collecting debris once gathered. The gutter cleaner has two elements – a leaf scoop and a gutter brush. It has a replaceable body brush with integrated scraper to remove stubborn dirt and leaves.

These products will be showcased on stand 7J30-L31, alongside the full range of WOLF-Garten products.

Town & Country Launch New Products At GLEE: Since acquiring Town & Country just one year ago, E.P. Barrus has fully refreshed and updated its offering, with 2019 seeing 120 new products added, following on from extensive customer research and product development. The Town & Country stand at Glee will showcase the entire range, which includes new boots and gloves, as well as gift sets and gardening accessories.

The new Buckingham Boots, available in navy and green, are contemporary and stylish, combining the durability of PVC with the comfort of an integral 4mm neoprene sock. The contoured design and stretch-to-fit neoprene make them extremely comfortable to wear and are 100% waterproof, meaning that feet will stay dry whatever the conditions.

The Burford Boots are available in navy, and, made of PVC, are lightweight, with a contoured design and fully lined inner for added comfort. The tread provides great grip for underfoot security on all surfaces

A very on trend addition to the line-up is the Chelsea Boot. These fashionable Chelsea style boots are easy to slip on with a stretchy gusset and comfortable liner. The lightweight PVC is waterproof and ideal for everyday use whilst providing the protection when needed, not to mention stylish good looks!

A very practical new product is the boot bag. Lightweight and durable, the PVC polyester coated bag will protect the home and car from muddy boots and has both a carry strap and shoulder strap to offer a choice of convenient ways to carry.

The ever popular Cloggies range has been updated with two new additions. The standard EVA Cloggies are now available in an attractive Navy Daisy pattern, as well as the green and navy, whilst retaining the comfortable, cushioned, design. These injection moulded clogs are great for ‘keeping by the back door’ and slipping on to pop into the garden or to take the bins out

The Furry Cloggies have the same supple, lightweight and contoured design of the EVA cloggies, with the added benefit of a cosy fleece lining for extra warmth and comfort. The outside is waterproof with a slip resistant sole and comes in either a Navy Star or Red Pattern design.

The range of Town & Country gloves has also been extended, with the Mastergrip leading the line-up. This unique glove uses patented Microfinish® Technology to provide up to 100% more grip than standard gloves. Originally developed for industry, these gloves provide control, safety, reliability and confidence. As well as the standard version, the glove is available in a variety of different guises to cater specifically for a range of gardeners, whilst providing unparallel grip with each one. The Mastergrip Pro is designed for professionals who use their gloves on a daily basis and demand the ultimate in grip and durability. The Mastergrip Thermal is perfect for winter gardening tasks, as it will keep hands warm in all conditions, whilst the Mastergrip Pattern is attractive and provides security for those with limited strength. Finally, there is a Mastergrip specifically for children; the Mastergrip Little Gardeners, the perfect glove for budding gardeners.

The UK’s most popular gardening glove, the Master Gardener, is now also available in a new design. The Master Gardener Lite has all the benefits of the original – soft, comfortable, providing great flexibility – in a lightweight version.

The Suregrip glove is available in twin packs, in both mens’ and womans’ sizes. Soft and comfortable, with a latex coated palm and finger, the sure grip pattern provides grip in both wet and dry conditions. The fitted wrists keep the dirt out and the breathable back makes gardening for longer more comfortable.

Another design that has been updated is the Ultimax. The new Ultimax, available in green, is hardwearing, comfortable and unequalled in its dexterity, with textured pads for grip and protection. It also has the added benefit of innovative, touch sensitive fingers to enable to use of smart phones without having to remove them – a modern day gardening essential!

STIHL Returns To Glee: Following the success of last year’s show, STIHL will be returning to Glee on 10th – 12th September to showcase its range of cordless garden tools.

As the popularity of battery powered products continues to rise amongst keen gardeners, STIHL’s Lithium-Ion powered cordless range is designed to meet the needs of domestic users. Delivering high performance, the affordable tools are supplied with either built in or interchangeable Lithium-Ion batteries, making garden tasks even easier to complete.

The full range now includes more than 35 light-weight, well balanced and quiet machines such as; chainsaws, hedge and grass trimmers, pole pruners, long reach hedge trimmers, lawn mowers and much more. These join STIHL’s range of electrical tools including pressure washers, grass and hedge trimmers as well as blowers and vacuum shredders.

Traditionally only available through its network of over 700 garden machinery and forestry specialists, STIHL’s cordless range is now also stocked in select gardening centres throughout the UK, including Dobbies and Hilliers.
