STIHL To Exhibit At Executive Hire Show: STIHL will be attending the Executive Hire Show 2019 to showcase to the plant hire industry a range of its latest high performance professional lawn mowers.   

The new professional lawn mowers on display, including the RM 756 GC, the RM 655 RS rear roller mower and the RM 4 RTP mulching models, have been specifically designed for use on larger areas and built for maximum durability and comfort for prolonged use.

The RM 756 GC professional lawn mower comes packed with plenty of features to tackle the toughest grass cuttings jobs. Features include a solid mono handlebar that makes emptying the 80-litre grass box simple, a 3-speed gearbox and a brake blade clutch mechanism to increase working speed and reduce machine down time.

With a stainless steel driven metal roller, the RM 655 RS offers no compromise between convenience and lawn quality. Fitted with a mono-comfort handle as standard, the body design of the new professional mower allows for easy access and maintenance of working parts such as drive cables, pulleys and the drive belt.

The RM 4 RTP is a 1-speed drive mulching lawn mower that is ideal for professionals who require great mulching results. The self-propelled machine features optimised design, robustness and high quality equipment such as anti-vibration elements, skirt protectors and a powerful engine.

Visitors to the stand will also be able to see a range of STIHL’s powerful and robust Lithium-Ion PRO Cordless tools, including the HSA 94 hedge trimmers, ideal for maintenance teams working in urban areas such as schools, hospitals and housing estates. The FSA 130 brushcutters, available in both loop handle (R) and bike handle versions, are lightweight and specifically designed for working on large areas of thick grass at length. Also on show is the impressive BGA 100 blower and the hugely versatile KMA 130 R kombi engine, which can be used with all of the existing Kombi attachments. Also on stand will be STIHL’s cut-off construction saw offering.

Murray Hire Expands Först Fleet: Bristol-based equipment and tool hire business Murray Hire Centres is expanding its long-standing fleet of Först woodchipper machines, after consistently being impressed by the superiority and reliability of the machinery.

Established since 1982, Murray Hire Centres is a close-knit family run business, now employing a total of 15 staff. With 600 account customers, the business has built itself a reputation as the best one-stop shop for equipment and tool hire in Bristol and the surrounding areas.

Murray Hire Expands Först Fleet

Mandy Taylor, Managing Director of Murray Hire Centres, explains why the business has worked closely with Först since its inception and has chosen to maintain the relationship ever since.

“There are numerous factors that make the Först machinery stand out to other machines available on the market”, said Mandy. “We’ve always felt that, paired with the consistent reliability and efficiency of the machines, their smart appearance also makes them far superior against other competitors.”

At present, Murray Hire Centres has two TR6’s, one ST6 and one TR8 machine, with another TR8 currently on order. Ideal for remote locations, the TR6 is a compact and manoeuvrable chipper which comes complete with Först’s unique ForstGrip feed-roller system, allowing for even the toughest forks and limbs to be broken.

Mandy continued: “We have reaped nothing but benefits from having Först machines on our fleet. For the business as a whole, it’s allowed us to offer a full circle of products to our customers. The robust machines have been utilised in a variety of scenarios over time, from general arboriculture work through to site clearances for large company extensions, as well as housing estates.

“Despite it being a rarity to face an issue with the machines, the warranty and after-sales support offered by Först is superb, which really gives us faith in the products and provides us with the assurance we need as a business.”

Going forward, Mandy is confident that the relationship with Först will continue to strengthen.

“Since day one, we have always had a fantastic relationship with Först, and we firmly believe that the machines are the best chippers available on the market.”

Luscombe Plant Hire Double Up On Their GreenMech Fleet

Luscombe Plant Hire double up on their GreenMech fleet to meet demand: Luscombe Plant Hire, based in Ulverston, Cumbria, stock a wide range of site machinery and tools available for daily, weekly, or long-term hire. After noticing that their GreenMech Arborist 130 woodchipper was hardly ever in the yard, owner Simon Luscombe decided to add a second one to his hire fleet to meet the consistent demand.

Simon and wife Beverly, along with their son Dan, started Luscombe Plant Hire in 2001 and this year they were proudly awarded the “Outstanding Single Depot Hire Company” at the EHN Passionate Hirer Awards. “We have a full range of tools and machinery from a wallpaper stripper right up to 8-tonne excavators as well as an onsite shop selling fittings, workwear and smaller tools” explains Simon. “The arborist side of things is quite a large part of our business, so being able to offer good quality, reliable chippers that work well is very important for us.”

Luscombe Plant Hire Double Up On Their GreenMech Fleet

They first came across the machines at the annual Executive Hire Show. After initially purchasing just one, the client base of tree surgeons, land owners and grounds managers meant the demand was more than they could supply so they added a second unit. “Since we’ve switched over to the GreenMech chippers, we’ve not had one bad report on them – our customers seem much more satisfied. They go out on hire for anywhere between one day to one month and everyone who hires them, say they’re really good machines to use. There has been no down-time due to breakdowns which, when you’ve got a packed hire schedule, is crucial.”

The Arborist 130 is a simple-to-use, cost effective, compact road tow chipper, featuring a generous 970mm x 790mm in-feed hopper, which aids bushy brash reduction, coupled with a 150cm x 230cm letterbox-style throat. The 23hp Honda petrol engine is protected with a steel bonnet, helping to reduce the noise level. It comes with a hand brake, overrun braking system and GreenMech’s patented Disc-Blade technology as standard.
