ICL Introduces Trophy XL®: ICL is pleased to announce the launch of Trophy XL®, a new turf herbicide from Corteva Agriscience that combines established herbicide technology with the innovative active ingredient Arylex™. Designed for managed amenity turf, Trophy XL offers targeted control of broad-leaved weeds, including challenging species like Plantain and Clover.

Trophy XL is formulated to support turf professionals in managing persistent weed issues effectively. Its advanced combination of active ingredients ensures robust control of a wide range of broad-leaved weeds, across various climatic conditions.

Key Features

  • Selective herbicide: Broad spectrum for extensive weed control
  • Effective against persistent weeds: Rapid and effective control of Plantain, Clover, and more.
  • Cool-weather application: Robust control of actively growing weeds in cooler weather
  • Single treatment per year: Designed to fit into standard maintenance schedules.
  • Low-odour formulation: More pleasant application experience

Product Details

Trophy XL is an EC (Emulsifiable Concentrate) containing 280 g/L fluroxypyr, 12.5 g/L halauxifen-methyl (Arylex), and 12 g/L cloquintocet-mexyl as a safener. It is a post-emergence herbicide suitable for newly established or mature turf areas.

  • Pack Size: 1 litre
  • Coverage: 1.67 hectares per pack
  • Application Rate: 0.6 L/ha (maximum 1 application per year)
  • Use Period: 1st April to 30th September

Integrated Weed Management Plans

For extended weed control, ICL recommends integrating Trophy XL into a sequential programme with Praxys®, another selective herbicide. Used together, these products provide consistent weed suppression throughout the season, supporting healthy, competitive turf.

Availability

Simon brings over 25 years of expertise in the sports turf industry, having held a variety of high-profile roles across the UK, Ireland, and Europe, including Agronomist for STRI, Technical Manager for Syngenta, and Technical Manager for Scotts.

Most recently, Simon has been involved in global turf consultancy projects, delivering world-class solutions for prestigious clients and events.
