First 6” turntable chipper from Jensen

First 6” turntable chipper from Jensen: What is believed to be the world’s first 6” turntable woodchipper will be launched and on display at SALTEX this month, from the worlds original woodchipper manufacturer, Jensen.

Found on stand H190, visitors to the show are welcomed to come and see the new A530L turntable model for themselves and learn more about this brand-new innovation from the German woodchipper manufacturer.

The new woodchipper has also been shortlisted in the Saltex 2019 Innovation Awards.

Jensen woodchippers were the world’s first woodchippers, designed in Maasbüll in 1884, so it is no surprise that they have always led the way with innovation in the sector.

The new 6” A530L turntable is the latest in a long line of unique developments available exclusively from Jensen, including bespoke custom builds, touch-sensor safety buttons and turntable functionality on all chippers 8” and above.

With the ability to turn the turntable up to 270 degrees, users can load the A530L from a range of angles around the machine and directly from the verge, not only saving time and effort, but ensuring improved safety for both the operators and members of the public in the vicinity.

The 270-degree rotating chute also means that users can fully configure the input and output directions for maximum efficiency and safety.

Available as a road-towable woodchipper, the new Jensen A530L turntable can be towed behind the operator’s vehicle easily, and its galvanised steel chassis guarantees reduced maintenance, outstanding resistance to damage, corrosion and wear, and a hugely extended life expectancy compared to other woodchipper brands.

The 35hp petrol engine offers supreme power and efficiency, whilst ensuring less pollution and Nitrogen Oxides emissions, contributing to a cleaner environment. This is also recognised as a benefit for those working in Clean Air Zones and Low-Emission towns and cities or tendering for large scale projects where diesel machinery is unfavourable.

Offering the same power and performance as the standard A530L, our most popular model and highly favoured by the industry, the A530L turntable can process up to 15m3/h of timber and brash, with additional benefits including electronic safety sensors fitted as standard, comprehensive toolkit fitted to the machine, built in control box to record hours and servicing intervals, and incorporated storage box.

See the new Jensen A530L Turntable on display at Saltex between 30th and 31st October, on stand H190 and find out more about Jensen at www.jensenchippers.co.uk

Jensen Success At Arb Show

Jensen Success At Arb Show: The team behind the UK distribution of Jensen woodchippers, the world’s first and original woodchippers developed in 1884, were delighted to host a stand at the 2019 Arb Show this month.

With a prominent stand overlooking the entrance, Jensen woodchippers were on full display to several thousand visitors that attended over the course of the two-day event, drawing in crowds of interested people and resulting in a large number of demonstration bookings throughout the country.

Jensen Success At Arb Show

Jensen are known for supplying the widest range of woodchippers in the industry, from 6” to 12” capacity; towed, PTO, tracked and hydraulically-adjustable ‘Spider’ tracks; as well as turntable functionality on all 8” and above machines.

A wide variety of Jensen machinery was available to see at the show, including towed and tracked machines, having both petrol and diesel models on display.

The 6” capacity, diesel A530L woodchipper is road-towable at less than 750kg, which made it one of the most popular machines on the stand from interested tree surgeons and arborists looking for a powerful but lightweight all-round chipper.

Similarly, the 6” A530L, petrol version, at under 700kg fully braked attracted much attention on the stand. With a 35hp Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine, and electronic safety touch-sensors fitted as standard, the A530L offers power, performance and safety in a practical sized machine.

Always one of the machines to draw a crowd is the Jensen A540 Spider, and at this year’s Arb Show it was no different.

Capable of tackling timber up to 190mm effortlessly, the A540 with Spider tracks is designed for embankments and awkward terrain.

Agile and manoeuvrable, visitors to the stand were impressed to learn about the stability benefits of the A540 Spider, which features independently adjustable hydraulic tracks both horizontally and vertically.

Visitors to the stand were varied with hugely interesting careers and equipment requirements, from independent tree surgeons looking for a single woodchipper for daily tasks through to large, crane-fed machines for highway and railway maintenance.

“This is the third year we’ve attended the Arb Show with Jensen and we were delighted with not only the turn out to the event but the huge level of interest in the brand”, says Bill Johnston, Head of Machinery Imports division and Business Manager for Jensen in the UK.

He continues, “It was excellent to meet a large number of existing Jensen owners who were pleased to share their experience of Jensen machinery with us, as well as a whole host of new customers booking on-site demonstrations.”

“We’re looking forward to seeing lots of those visitors again over the coming weeks, giving them the opportunity to try a Jensen for themselves and experience the power and performance of the world’s original woodchippers.”

The Jensen dealer for Wales, Riverlea, supported the stand at the show and was represented by Sales Manager Paul Austin.

“This was my first time at the Arb Show and I found it very interested. We were pleased to speak to visitors and leave at the end of the show with some leads, which I hope will generate some more sales for Jensen over the coming months.”

Jensen Support Fundraising Initiative

Jensen Support Fundraising Initiative: For the second consecutive year Jensen woodchippers have offered their support to a charity Christmas tree collection run by Dorothy House Hospice Care which has raised over £26,000 this Christmas, and £40,000 over the two years Jensen have been involved.

Once again Dorothy House and Wiltshire College & University Centre have joined forces for a Christmas tree collection and recycling scheme, with volunteers collecting more than 2,300 trees from across the region and delivering 300 of them to the college’s Lackham campus for chipping and recycling with support from Jensen.

Jensen Support Fundraising Initiative

Local hospice Dorothy House provides compassionate end of life care and support for patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families and carers in Bath and North East Somerset, Wiltshire and Somerset.

The Wiltshire College & University Centre Lackham site is a dedicated landbased campus providing qualifications in subjects such as agriculture, land and wildlife management and horticulture. Jensen are the original manufacturer of woodchippers, built in Germany since 1884 and distributed in the UK by the Machinery Imports division of the T H WHITE Group, whose head office is based in Devizes, Wiltshire.

Jensen UK Business Manager, Bill Johnston, was delighted to spend the day at the Lackham campus with students from the Horticulture and Countryside Management departments, teaching them skills in the safe use of woodchippers and sharing his wealth of industry knowledge about the arboricultural sector and the Jensen woodchipper brand.

“We’re delighted to offer our support for this fantastic fundraising initiative in partnership with Dorothy House and Wiltshire College & University Centre once again” says Bill.

“Not only are we assisting Dorothy House in their esteemed efforts to recycle the trees but giving Lackham students valuable experience with the woodchippers and guaranteeing that the trees don’t go to waste, so everybody wins.”

On hand to reduce all 300 trees was the Jensen A540 woodchipper, which with its powerful feed roller grip, wide hopper and 8-inch chipping capacity made light work of even the bulkiest trees.

Bill also brought along the best-selling A530 towed woodchipper to show the students, which at sub-750kg and with a 6” capacity proves consistently popular with arborists across the UK.

Phil Nicholls, Gardener at Lackham, said: “We’ve filled almost two trailers with chippings now, all of which will be reused around the Lackham site. This is a great opportunity to support the Dorothy House charity, teach the students something new and ensure that all of these trees have a chance to be recycled where they may have otherwise ended up in landfill”.

Verity Clark, Community Fundraiser for Dorothy House Hospice Care said: “This was our third Christmas tree collection and we’re glad to have helped local people recycle over 2,360 used Christmas trees while also raising £26,000 of vital funds for Dorothy House. A big thank you to all our volunteers and supporters for their generous help and thanks also to all involved in recycling and chipping our trees at Wiltshire College Lackham.”

Star Dealership On Board With Jensen

Star Dealership On Board With Jensen: Momentum continues to grow behind the Jensen brand this year with the appointment of another brand-new dealer in the South West.

Elmstar Machinery, based in Newton Abbot, will be responsible for sales, service, parts and hire of Jensen woodchippers throughout the entire county of Devon.

Star Dealership On Board With Jensen

Elmstar has been trading for 10 years in 2019, celebrating its 10-year anniversary this January. With dedicated and well-stocked workshops, and coverage across all of Devon, Elmstar Machinery is an excellent addition to the Jensen network.

Jason Wignall, Elmstar Machinery Co-owner, is extremely pleased with the new partnership and is very excited to have the opportunity to work with the premium brand that is Jensen.

“We do sell a range of domestic and professional groundcare machinery, as well as chainsaws, but the adoption of a woodchipper brand opens up new and exciting potential for us in the arboriculture sector across Devon.”

“We are delighted to be able to add this established brand to our portfolio.”

This latest appointment comes hot on the heels of two other new dealership appointments in the UK, with Field and Forest Machinery, Scotland and P. Tuckwells in East England both joining the Jensen dealer line up in November 2018, and another in Kent coming very soon.

Now available to buy, hire, service and obtain spare parts from 19 dealer locations across the whole of the UK, Jensen is going from strength to strength. This is evident by the exceptional growth in sales and brand awareness throughout 2018, only the second year of trading as part of the T H WHITE Machinery Imports division and led by Business Manager Bill Johnston.

Naturally, Bill is excited with the continued expansion of the Jensen dealer network:
“2018 was an excellent year for Jensen, with a growing network of dealers across the country, a series of successful events in the Arb Show, APF and SALTEX, and increasing awareness across the industry of the world’s original woodchippers from Jensen.

“2019 is already looking like another exciting year, with even more high calibre dealers set to join the Jensen line up, and we are delighted to welcome Elmstar Machinery into our Jensen family. We are confident they will provide exceptional customer service and support for all things Jensen for our Devon customers.”

Jensen Grow With New Dealers

Jensen Grow With New Dealers: Arb professionals across the UK are set to see even more from Jensen woodchippers over the coming months, with exciting new dealer appointments in the East of England and Scotland formalised recently.

Constantly growing both in awareness and popularity, the Jensen brand is synonymous with quality, power and longevity, developed by the business who manufactured the world’s first woodchipper in Maasbull, Germany, in 1884.

Jensen Grow With New Dealers

In the East of England, we are pleased to be partnered with P. Tuckwell Ltd, established in 1954 by Len Tuckwell and with 7 depots across Essex, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Suffolk, 3 of which will be offering Jensen sales, service and parts initially.

Tuckwell’s began selling groundcare machinery in 1986 and have since continued to expand and serve a wide variety of commercial industries, well established in their communities as machinery experts who supply high quality machinery and equipment.

Jason Clark, Forestry & Arboriculture Sales Specialist at Tuckwell’s commented, “we have identified the arboricultural market as being under-supplied in the Essex region and are looking to become a key supplier in this sector. Our new forestry and arboriculture line, launched in October, provides a wide-ranging selection of professional brands including tools, clothing, equipment in addition to the Jensen woodchippers.

Excited by the opportunity that the premium Jensen brand offers, Jason added: “Jensen woodchippers are a well-established and highly regarded brand within the arboriculture industry, manufactured to a high specification for optimum performance. Professionals will find the product to be a reliable option while reducing operator costs and improving productivity.

“Our carefully selected brands are recognised for being at the forefront of the industry, and Jensen’s products with their exceptional reputation will complement our existing machinery portfolio.”

Moving into brand new territory for the brand in Scotland, Jensen are now partnered with Field and Forest, who specialise in arboricultural machinery sales and hire. Field and Forest were first established in 2014 by Tom Brown and are delighted to be the first Jensen dealers north of the border.

Tom commented: “Field and Forest’s philosophy has always been to supply the highest quality machinery to the arb and forestry sectors – we see Jensen as being good, reliable, honest kit. We see the A530L as being a particularly versatile machine coming in at 750kg which means it is great for all users and can be towed without a specific towing licence.”

Based just outside Edinburgh in Broxburn, Field and Forest are the first Scottish dealers recruited by Jensen and will be providing sales, hire and service support.

“We are extremely excited to be working with Jensen and have taken delivery of our first few machines. Our aim is to build a short- and long-term hire fleet – and Jensen was the obvious choice of woodchippers having been tried and tested.”

In addition, the Jensen UK team has expanded with the full-time recruitment of Nathan Jacobs as a Jensen specialist sales representative. Nathan joined the business in the summer and has spent several months learning the ropes with the Jensen distributor as well as working with the team at T H WHITE Groundcare to develop his understanding of the brand from a dealer and end user perspective.

“I’ve been working in the arborist sector for ten years,” Nathan recounts, “initially as a field engineer and then moving into management of groundcare and treecare machinery hire. “I am enjoying my role within the Jensen UK business, it is a great challenge and I’m looking forward to continuing to build the brand across the country, supporting dealers and working with the manufacturer to reach the full potential that we know is possible for the Jensen brand.”

Nathan is a dedicated Sales Representative for the Jensen brand across the UK, working with Business Manager Bill Johnston to support the ever-growing dealer network and customers across the UK.

Naturally Bill is delighted with the expansion for the brand:

“The Jensen brand is ever-increasing in awareness, popularity and market share, and we are pleased to welcome new dealers into our growing network, especially in the East of England and Scotland where we see huge potential for the business in partnership with Tuckwell’s and Field and Forest.

“Both dealerships bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table in a range of sectors and I’m looking forward to working with their teams to develop our business in their regions alongside our existing selection of dealers across the country.”

Jensen continues to expand its dealer network across the UK, so keep your eyes peeled for even more new dealer appointments over coming months.
