DLF launches new packaging for Masterline® mixtures: DLF Seeds, a global leader in grass seed innovation, is proud to announce the launch of its refreshed packaging for its professional Masterline® brand of turf seed mixtures. The new packaging design, available for 5kg, 10kg and 20kg bags, comes after a full redesign of DLF’s corporate visual identity in early 2023.

One of the standout features of the new packaging is its visual representation of nature’s beauty – mirroring the transition from the lush green of grass to the vast expanse of blue sky. This gradient embodies the essence of DLF’s Masterline® mixtures, which are expertly crafted to transform landscapes and sporting facilities into vibrant, healthy green spaces that evoke tranquillity and support first-class performance.

“We are thrilled to start production with our fresh packaging for the Masterline® pro-turf mixtures” said Derek Smith, Amenity Sales & Marketing Manager at DLF. “The new design not only captures the essence of our products but has a strong visual connection to DLF’s corporate identity. We believe that this update will resonate with our customers and further enhance their experience with our products.”

In line with the new packaging design, DLF has made the strategic decision to drop the original crown logo, symbolising a bold step towards modernity and a fresh identity that reflects the company’s forward-thinking approach.

Masterline® seed mixtures are trusted by turf managers and professional landscapers alike for their superior quality and performance. For more information about the range, please visit www.dlf.co.uk.

Bernhard and Company launches ‘Race across the World’

Bernhard and Company launches ‘Race across the World’: Bernhard and Company has launched a new company-wide challenge to raise funds for Crohn’s and Colitis UK, by taking on the ‘Race across the World’, in March, April, and May.

The Race across the World challenge encourages Bernhard team members to cover the furthest distance possible over the next three months, ending May 31st, 2024. Anyone in the company can take part, and in pursuit of covering the most kilometres, staff can choose to either walk, run, or cycle. There are no limits on the distance that can be travelled, so Bernhard team members will be able to rack up kilometres right up until the end of May, in the hope of raising as much money as possible.

Steven Nixon, Managing Director for Bernhard and Company, said: “We’re really proud to be launching another charity fundraising challenge. As a team, we’re committed to supporting great causes, and by launching this challenge, everyone in the business will come together to do their very best to raise crucial funds.

“Living with Crohn’s disease can be tough, as anxieties caused by the disease can have negative effects on mental health. So, we’re excited to work as hard as we can during these few months to keep moving and help to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by those affected.”

Crohn’s and Colitis UK provides support and information for the 300,000 UK citizens that are diagnosed with the disease, which affects gut health and leads to inflammatory bowel disorder. The charity aims to provide support and up-to-date information on the diseases for anyone who needs it, as well as breaking the taboo on these unpleasant disorders.

After taking on the Three Peaks Challenge in 2018, Bernhard and Company launched its virtual challenge in 2020: Bernhard5500, which raised over £1,000 for Parkinson’s UK. Bernhard recognised that a virtual challenge would allow them to unite employees located around the world. This time, utilising a variety of fitness disciplines – walking, running, and cycling – allows Bernhard and Company to build on previous charity success, and enables its staff to contribute to the cause in whichever way they wish to.

The Race across the World is a team effort for all at Bernhard and Company, as a global business – and distance updates can be tracked throughout the challenge, by visiting: https://www.challengehound.com/challenge/e92cce40-d26d-11ee-929d-51f49388a738

Segway launches the Navimow i Series

Segway launches the Navimow i Series: Segway is launching the Navimow i Series in Europe, with prices starting at a highly competitive £949.

The launch extends the Navimow product line, following the introduction of the premium H Series in the UK last year, with the i Series providing hassle-free and intelligent mowing through a uniquely developed positioning system, AI-powered assistant mapping function and smart features such as scheduled mowing.

A few taps and away you mow

The ultimate aim of the Navimow i Series is to provide a user-friendly experience for gardeners of all levels of expertise, and this begins with a clear and easy setup process. Everything can be set up virtually via the Navimow app, with users able to mark virtual boundaries, identify off-limits islands, and draw safe channels to connect multiple zones in just a few taps, getting them up and running within minutes.

Self-developed RTK positioning system with vision enhancement

Only robotic lawnmowers that offer accurate positioning and route planning can be truly relied upon by users to deliver a precision cut every time. To ensure a high level of dependability, Segway has developed its own vision+RTK (real-time kinematic) positioning system, that combines a customised RTK chip with a vision system enabled by a 140°POV camera. As a result, the Navimow i Series can handle a diverse range of lawn layouts while providing centimetre-level positioning, navigating gardens stably and systematically and intelligently avoiding objects.

All-new AI-powered assistant mapping function

The Navimow i Series leverages cutting-edge AI technology to optimise mapping accuracy. The mower’s AI-powered assistant feature identifies the edge of the user’s lawn during the mapping process and is then automatically able to navigate the entire working area all by itself. Based on the map created by the AI assistant, users can then revise and finetune the working area on the app with ease, working alongside the technology to deliver a high level of performance.

Smart features designed for flawless lawn maintenance

Navimow i Series users can enjoy scheduled cutting that allows them to keep their lawn in check even when they’re away on holiday. The model can mow according to a planned schedule, even automatically recharging when needed, guaranteeing a pristine lawn 100% of the time. Segway’s latest offering also employs a unique zig-zag cutting pattern, changing angle after the first round of mowing is complete to ensure every blade of grass is covered. Finally, users can opt to turn on Ride-on Boundary mode where the i Series straddles the physical boundary between grass and non-grass areas, servicing those tough-to-reach lawn edges that both traditional and robotic mowers struggle to reach.

George Ren, CEO of Segway Navimow BU, commented: “With the Navimow i Series we wanted to create a robotic mower that caters to everyone, from users that have zero experience with robotic or even traditional mowers, to green-fingered gardening extraordinaires. We believe that our latest offering delivers mass usability, with a host of smart features delivering an easy-to-use product experience and a competitive price point that makes the i Series more accessible than almost every other robotic mower on the market.

“The i Series perfectly complements the H Series models that launched in 2021, allowing us to service all segments of the market with precise and boundary-cord-free cutting. Since its launch in Europe, the H Series has proven immensely popular, recording cumulative sales of over 40,000 and making Navimow one of the industry’s most sought-after names. We’re optimistic that the i Series will propel our growth in the gardening space, establishing Navimow as a true innovator in the sector.”

Pricing and where to buy

The Navimow i Series is available to buy now. With two different models, Navimow’s MSRP ranges between £949 and £1,199. Consumers in the UK are able to purchase the Navimow i Series from authorized dealers whose full list can be found in Navimow’s official website: navimow.segway.com

Agrovista Amenity Launches Controls Brochure

Dr. Abigail Graceson, Technical Manager at Agrovista Amenity, emphasises the importance of tailored solutions, stating, “What might be right for one person isn’t always going to be right for someone else. It is about understanding your own circumstances and identifying what the best solution is.” This sentiment reflects the core philosophy behind the brochure – providing turf managers with the information needed to make informed decisions based on their unique situations.

“Managing good quality turf surfaces and other amenity areas presents many challenges,” Dr. Graceson notes. “Our objective is to maintain healthy plants while minimising the presence of undesirable fungal, insect, and plant pests.” In a time of increasing legislative and environmental changes, making informed decisions becomes paramount, as these choices form the foundation of management plans that deliver high-quality amenity environments.

The Controls brochure goes beyond product listings, offering a better understanding of integrated pest management principles. It equips turf managers with the knowledge required to navigate the complexities of product selection in the face of legislative and environmental challenges.

To further support turf managers, Agrovista Amenity emphasises the expertise of its representatives, who are qualified to BASIS and FACTS as a minimum.
