Thanks to its green laser beam, visibility is significantly improved over red laser models, especially in bright daylight conditions. Users can select from static, or three rotation speeds: 150, 300, 600 rpm and three scan angles: 10°, 20°, 30° depending on application needs, adding to the tool’s adaptability and versatility.

The SKR001 is extremely flexible given it is compatible with three Makita battery platforms, CXT (12V), LXT (18V) and XGT (40V) can all be used to power the laser when fitted with the respective battery tray options. The Rotary Laser also comes equipped with a Bluetooth remote control (RC1) for operation up to 100 meters and features auto shut off and anti-drift systems to maintain laser integrity. Run time is equally impressive, with up to 160 hours of continuous use with a 40VMax 4.0Ah XGT battery, ensuring minimal downtime.

Built for real-world jobsite durability, this Rotary Laser features IP67-rated protection against dust and water, as well as shock-absorbing rubber bumpers to safeguard the unit from drops of up to 2 meters. Weighing only 4kg (without battery), it is a manageable weight yet sturdy enough for demanding and daily professional use.

“With a green beam to provide clear visibility and its multi-platform battery support, the SKR001 sets a new benchmark for cordless rotary lasers. It’s a must-have for professionals looking for flexibility and high performance,” commented Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita.

The SKR001 is supplied with an 18V LXT battery tray holder as standard.

Makita’s new tabless XGT delivers improved performance

Makita’s new tabless XGT delivers improved performance: Makita has launched an innovative new battery for its 40VMax XGT range of high-performance tools.

The 4.0Ah BL4040F battery is the first Makita battery to include cutting-edge tabless technology, which allows more efficient power delivery, better runtimes, and cooler running. As the latest Makita F-Type battery, it is engineered for performance on the very highest demand applications.

The tabless lithium-ion cells in the new BL4040F eliminates the bottleneck caused by current concentration by connecting the entire end of the electrode to the end of the cell, instead of connecting to tabs at each end.

With a larger connection area inside the cell, heat generation is minimised. This means that even under high load, the cell temperature is reduced compared to standard designs, which has a positive effect on the overall service life of the battery. A further benefit is that the battery can be charged immediately after intense use, with no need for a cooling phase, meaning shorter overall charging times. The tabless 4.0Ah BL4040F battery delivers up to 36% longer runtimes and operates 32% cooler compared to the standard 4.0Ah BL4040.

Like all Makita F-Type batteries, the BL4040F is a high-output battery designed for enhanced performance and better runtimes on higher drain tools such as chainsaws, breakers and demolition hammers. The new 4.0Ah BL4040F delivers the same 2.1kw maximum output as the 5.0Ah BL4050F. This means customers now have the choice of the larger, higher capacity 5.0Ah battery or the smaller, lighter 4.0Ah battery to achieve the high output that demanding tasks require. In fact, the BL4040F is 34% more compact and 28% lighter than the BL4050F.

As with all Makita’s XGT 40VMax batteries, the BL4040F is built for the toughest environments with an impact resistant and shock absorbing casing to protect the battery cells, as well as a triple layer structure to protect against water and dust ingress. XGT batteries also feature Makita’s digital communication system that connects the tool and battery to actively protect against overload, over-discharge and overheating.

The XGT range has over 125 40VMax and 80VMax (2x 40VMax) products including drills, impact drivers and wrenches, angle grinders, nailers, dust extractors, and circular, mitre and reciprocating saws. There is also a wide range of XGT garden and grounds maintenance machines including mowers, chain saws, blowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers and earth augers.

Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita said: “The new tabless BL4040F is specifically designed for the most demanding applications and will deliver superior performance and runtimes as well as the long service life that customers expect from Makita products. The launch of this cutting edge, next generation battery is just the latest part of our ongoing drive to ensure professionals have the high-performance products they need.”

Makita’s latest launch scrubs up well

Makita’s latest launch scrubs up well: Makita has expanded its range of 40VMax XGT cleaning products with the launch of the high-performance PS001G Scrubber Polisher.

A versatile option, by changing the brush or pad attachment, it can undertake a variety of tasks in a range of interior and exterior applications, including cleaning dirt and removing stains, as well as polishing wax on floors.

The cordless PS001G Scrubber Polisher is ideal for both inside and outdoors as it is IPX4-rated for splash protection. It can be used for hard floor coverings that require deep cleaning and polishing such as tile, marble or concrete, and across a wide range of settings including schools, hospitals, warehouses, shopping centres, and courtyards.

Users will benefit from its lightweight construction, which makes it easy to manoeuvre. For hard-to-reach areas such as walls or tiled floor joints, the splash guard can be removed for closer access. The handle can also be adjusted up to 354mm and the comfortable grip ensures the PS001G can be used over prolonged periods. A handy built-in job light allows users to see clearly in areas where visibility is restricted, helping to ensure all areas are cleaned.

The scrubber is also designed with reverse rotation, which allows for different brushes and cleaning pads to be fitted and removed without the use of additional tools or the need for the operator to touch the cleaning accessory with their hands. Whether performing a deep clean or a light buff, there are a range of floor pads and brushes available to cater for all cleaning and polishing requirements.

Powered by one Makita 40VMax XGT battery, the PS001G can provide up to 140 minutes of use. A soft start feature brings the machine up to power in a gentle increase and three speed options (low, medium, and high) allow users to match speed to application with constant speed control to ensure stable operation. Finally, it has been designed with a brushless motor, which means less friction, translating into more power, performance, and runtime as well as offering the additional advantage that replacement brushes are not needed.

Andrew Farrell, Key Account Manager – Special Projects at Makita, said: “Cleaning contractors and facilities management teams should find that the PS001G Scrubber Polisher makes an excellent addition to their range of equipment, helping to improve productivity and the quality of cleaning. The machine is powerful, versatile and designed to be comfortable and easy to use, making it an ideal option for a wide range of premises.”

Dirty to dazzling with Makita’s new pressure washer

Dirty to dazzling with Makita’s new pressure washer: Leading power tools manufacturer Makita has launched a new pressure washer powered by an 18V LXT Li-ion battery.

Lightweight and easy to handle, the new DHW180 LXT Pressure Washer has been designed with a nozzle that allows for five different spray modes, making it a practical option for a range of light duty washing tasks on site.

Weighing just 2.2kg (without a battery), the machine is incredibly easy to manoeuvre. The DHW180 offers a maximum pressure of 24 bar and a maximum water flow of 5.3 L/min, as well as a continuous run time of up to 82 minutes with a 5.0Ah battery. As such, it is convenient for a range of outdoor cleaning tasks on a single charge.

Designed with versatility in mind, the DHW180 pressure washer has two different power modes to switch between depending on the task, a five-in-one nozzle to change spray modes, as well as an angled brush to target difficult-to-reach areas. Additionally, a foam nozzle or a wheel brush can be added to ensure objects are left spotlessly clean.

Convenience is also key to its overall design, as water can be sourced via three methods: a hose pipe connection for a continuous supply of water, placing the filter tube into a bucket or for even smaller tasks, a large water bottle can be connected to the pressure washer.

Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita UK commented: “We are thrilled to add the new pressure washer to Makita’s growing range of cordless machines. Designed to be both convenient and practical, the DHW180 is the ideal solution for an array of light duty tasks.”
