New branch manager for Reesink Scotland

New branch manager for Reesink Scotland: Mike Turnbull brings six years’ experience as Regional Manager looking after UK Reesink dealers, customers and retail partners, bolstered by more than 20 years working at Toro Spellbrook, to his new role of Branch Manager at Reesink Scotland, the distributor’s service branch based in Livingstone.

Supporting all of Scotland in distribution and service, Reesink believes Mike will bring huge benefit to this extensive geographical area for the business, thanks to his extensive expertise.

Scotland, being the home of golf, is the location of the country’s, and indeed world’s, most prestigious golf clubs, many of which are long-term Toro commercial machinery and irrigation customers, including major sporting venues, councils, local authorities and landscapers who favour the comprehensive grounds machinery range from Toro.

“We have many of the business’s key customers in Scotland and a team of staff at the top of their game, and it will be an honour to lead the branch forward in our plans to grow existing and build new customer relationships in the golf and groundscare sectors,” Mike says.

“My focus will be to make sure all existing deals, service packages and backup and support requirements are catered for and plot a new course of growth for the branch.”

With growth in mind, one of the first jobs Mike will be responsible for is launching a satellite branch in the north of the country to service the area north of Aberdeen. He says: “Our branch in West Lothian is convenient for its central location and good transport links, but with the level of work and customers we have spread over such a large area that has grown since we opened eight years ago means it’s time for additional resource over a bigger area.

“We’re currently staffing this new facility and already have Jim McKay, Area Sales Manager North and Gordon Rodgers, a full-time mechanic/engineer in position. The fully supported hub will make it easier for customers in the north to access our maintenance and genuine parts after-sales services.”

For Mike, who is Scottish, this move marks a return home. “It was a hard decision to leave the role I was doing. I was working with some of the best dealers in the UK and the relationships we formed were really successful. I will miss that, but the timing was right. I  view it as the same job but with a different office and I am looking forward to bringing all I have learned over the years to Scotland to drive the branch forward and benefit our customers there.”

Reesink and Toro combined for quick win

Reesink and Toro combined for quick win: There aren’t many quick wins in life, but Reesink and Toro certainly provide one when it comes to winter machinery maintenance.

Getting ready for winter means being prepared. The work is tougher and harder for machines, and that means parts are more likely to wear out, bend, crack or damage more easily and with more frequency. But there’s no need to experience a delay to work or unnecessary downtime. Here’s a genuine take on why.

Having the reliability of Reesink as a distributor means parts delivery within 24 hours to anywhere in the UK. That level of service reduces the amount of downtime incurred, as well as making life easier.

The reassurance of having a genuine service don’t end there. It comes with a comprehensive stock reserve and local support. But significantly, customers can rely on the fact that they’re getting the genuine Toro part – and that’s a big distinction.

Going for the will-fit part means customers are not choosing the parts that are specifically built for the machine. Nor are they choosing the high-quality materials Toro is synonymous with to ensure maximum performance. Or indeed choosing parts that are rigorously tested to make sure they can withstand the daily stress that come with keeping a course or pitch in top condition.

Michael Hampton, Parts Manager at Reesink Turfcare says: “It’s not possible to make winter machinery maintenance any easier than by choosing Reesink and Toro, so while the weather might be unpredictable something you can guarantee won’t be is the quality you get from Toro and the service and support you receive from Reesink.”

But the winter wins don’t stop there. Getting ready is as simple as ordering MVP kits in advance to cover over 100 different maintenance issues such as rebuilding rollers, replacing hydraulic hoses, filter kits or even overhauling cutting units. When packaged up in one handy box customers get all the required parts and save up to 20 percent on the cost of buying the parts individually. And importantly, they are on the shelf ready to use.

And finally, never underestimate the power of simply being organised by planning in winter servicing now. After all, routine checks and preventing rather than curing problems is considerably cheaper than ad-hoc repairs and thanks to Reesink peace of mind this winter is guaranteed with its ReeAssure servicing plans and the option of three types for every budget and requirement level.

Reesink East Anglia builds on success

Reesink East Anglia builds on success: The East Anglia and Midlands branch of Reesink UK is celebrating two years of successful operation and attributing a significant proportion of its achievements to its machinery servicing and parts departments.

Trevor Chard, Branch Manager of Reesink East Anglia, says: “We set out with a firm focus on sales, servicing, training and parts, and what we’ve noticed since opening is just how highly the servicing and parts departments are valued and in particular how popular the ReeAssure maintenance plans are.”

Reesink East Anglia builds on success

The reason for this is multifaceted says Trevor: “We’ve noticed customers are holding on to their machinery for longer. The cost of living crisis does affect businesses and the post-COVID spend is long behind us, but this is where buying Toro in the first instance pays dividends.

“It’s longevity and reliability is such that with regular maintenance and servicing by our team of experienced and trained technicians they can easily get upwards of a decade of solid work performance in.”

In fact, such is the demand for Reesink’s servicing maintenance support that the Burwell branch now has three technicians full-time on the road and two at the branch, with recruitment currently active to further bolster the team.

The reason for this is that from a choice of three service plans for customers, Burwell branch customers favour Gold. “They want to know everything is covered, scheduled and every eventuality taken care of. That’s unlimited visits, breakdown and call out costs, and all manufacturer’s routine maintenance and scheduled servicing. With most customers choosing this plan, it’s easy to see why the team is expanding.

“The growth of the maintenance and support we provide has been organic and demonstrates just how important it is to have a local branch to respond to customer demand and react to specific requirements of our local customers. That’s what sees us gaining new customers and welcoming returning ones.”

Trevor has noticed that most machinery enquiries focus on hybrid and electric options and he puts the branch’s point of difference down to that fact that they may act as an independent, but they have access to all the advantages being part of an international distributor brings.

“We’re trained as the distributor but we act as the retail outlet,” he says. “We can respond instantly to local market changes and design our business to offer the right products for the local industry but also pull on the power of being part of Reesink’s impressive network of market-leading brands, latest technology, guaranteed delivery times, and more.”

This year Toro has proudly sponsored the Mark Blundell Motorsport Racing Team with a Vista® lithium-ion powered shuttle vehicle from Reesink to travel the British Touring Car Championships circuits with Jake Hill and his team.

Toro and Reesink are always looking to support the sports sector and young emerging talent, and this was the perfect way to do so and mark the 40th year of working together. As such there will be two racing car simulators on stand giving visitors the opportunity to race any car at any racetrack in the world with coaches from MB Motorsport on hand giving guidance on achieving the best score and topping the leaderboard. The innovative Vista which serves as a crucial asset for transporting up to eight people will also be on display.
