“The trade media has long supported SALTEX and with this year’s show already exceeding 2019’s July figures in terms of confirmed exhibitors, visitor registrations and floor space booked, this year’s show looks set to be one of the most successful yet.

“We are delighted to announce this year’s official media partners for SALTEX 2022 and are grateful for their continued support.

“Working with the media – especially those of the calibre of our official partners – ensures that we can keep industry colleagues up to date with the latest on what to expect at this year’s show. We look forward to welcoming them to the NEC in November.”

Sarah Cunningham, GMA director of commercial and events, SALTEX event organisers, says: “As the biggest event covering the supply and management of products and services that help to create high quality leisure, recreation, and sports surfaces, it’s important that the new website is easy to navigate for visitors and exhibitors. I’m confident that the new site will deliver for both.”

Speaking about the rebrand, Andrea McMahon, GMA director of communications says:

“SALTEX represents innovation and progression. Its where the industry comes together to build networks, knowledge and learn about new innovations. It’s forward-looking and the brand needs to reflect this and we hope the new look strikes the balance of being modern and progressive, whilst retaining an element of simplicity connecting it to the previous look.”

The opening of visitor registration coincides with the launch of the 2022 show’s social media campaign, #aheadofthegame. As attending the show guarantees you’ll be ahead of the game, the tag couldn’t be more apt. SALTEX visitors are being encouraged to use the tag, along with #SALTEX2022 on social posts to share what they learnt at the show that puts them ahead of the game. Likewise exhibitors are being encouraged to use the tag to promote what they will be bringing to the show.

At the event, visitors will hear about latest product innovations and find all the machinery and technology needed to make their jobs easier. It gives access to expertise all in one place that they wouldn’t get anywhere else. Visitors will be surrounded by a broad spectrum of exhibitors offering solutions and providing answers – and there’ll be the opportunity to meet and network with others in the same industry for new ideas and fresh insights.

Sarah continues: “With a proven track record spanning eight decades, the SALTEX 2022 show won’t disappoint. Bringing together the best in the business to tackle the trends and issues affecting those working in the industry, the event will host over 400 industry brands in one place – all lining up the best products on offer for today’s growing needs. And, as always, there will be a comprehensive schedule of speakers across three theatres sharing their knowledge and expertise – with sustainability and environmental pressure at the forefront of the 2022 agenda.”

SALTEX will make sure you #getaheadofthegame so be sure to visit saltex.org.uk and

register for your free ticket. The show takes place at the conveniently central Birmingham NEC on 2-3 November. To discuss the option of buying stand space at the 2022 show, email Sarah Cunningham at scunningham@thegma.org.uk.

SALTEX sales smashed

SALTEX sales smashed: SALTEX is exceeding expectations with the number of exhibitors already booked for the 2022 show surpassing that of the 2021 show with five months to go until the event.

Still riding high from the huge success of the 75th show, which led the way for the industry back into live events, Sarah Cunningham, director of commercial and events at the Grounds Management Association, SALTEX event organisers, says: “Visitors will be in for a treat at SALTEX this year. Stand sales have already surpassed those of 2021 and we have a bigger and better floorplan designed for the 2022 show.

“With 140 companies confirmed and us welcoming back so many exhibitors from previous years demonstrates the value these industry-leading companies place on attending SALTEX. Plus, with five months until the show and so many active conversations with new companies ongoing, we can guarantee that number will only increase.”

Big brand names already on board from 2021 include Dennis, ISEKI, Origin Amenity, Redexim, Reesink UK with Toro and Sisis. And coming back to join them after a break away are Barrus, Gianni Ferrari, Ransomes, STIHL and STM.

Rob Edwards, marketing manager – tractor business unit at Kubota, another returning exhibitor, says: “It’s essential for Kubota to promote its products to customers and the turf management marketplace and we choose to use SALTEX, as the premier UK event for the turf sector, to do this. We feel that there is a distinct appetite from the marketplace to meet with industry professionals and suppliers and SALTEX is the best event for that. The combination of the exhibition, alongside the training, learning and expert advice opportunities means that SALTEX is the ‘must do’ event for the turf professional and we look forward to attending it in November.”

Sarah continues: “If companies are serious about reaching new and potential customers then SALTEX is a must for the calendar. The feedback from last year’s exhibitors covered how the show provided the platform for meeting high quality business leads from strong visitor numbers as well as giving the opportunity for networking and entertaining with existing customers.”

Taking place at Birmingham’s NEC over two days, 2-3 November, SALTEX is Europe’s largest free to attend sports amenities and landscaping trade exhibition, catering for all sectors of the grounds care industry. It showcases the sector’s latest innovations and technologies, features an education programme with CPD-accredited seminars, and hosts expert speakers providing insights and solutions to current sector-wide issues. It also provides a great opportunity to network with industry colleagues and build new business relationships.

Since SALTEX moved from its original home at Windsor Racecourse to the NEC Birmingham in 2015, Fusion Media has been integral to the success of the show.

Highlights of Fusion Media’s six-year SALTEX campaign include:

  • Achieved record-breaking pre-reg and final attendance figures year on year.
  • Significantly grew the show’s international audience.
  • Increased a younger demographic of visitor.
  • Increased visitors from the local authority and landscaping sectors.
  • Increased returning visitor percentage and first-time visitor percentage.
  • Created social media accounts and accumulated a following of over 12K.
  • Carried out strategic PR campaigns with regular coverage in over 75 publications throughout the UK, Europe, and America.

Fusion Media’s work on SALTEX was also recently recognised by the wider events industry after it picked up a prestigious Exhibition News (EN) Award and shortlisted in another.

Commenting on the decision, Fusion Media managing director Christopher Bassett said: “I am extremely proud of the Fusion team and what we’ve been able to achieve over the past six years to make SALTEX the success that it is and grow the show.

“The past two years has changed the way we look at all of our contracts and we are looking forward to the new and exciting challenges ahead. Working with the GMA and the wider team to put on a show the size of SALTEX has been a great experience. I wish the GMA and SALTEX success in the future.”

Exhibitors continue to invest in SALTEX

Exhibitors continue to invest in SALTEX: The Grounds Management Association (GMA) reveals that almost 90% of SALTEX 2022 stand space has been sold.

Early indications for SALTEX 2022, which takes place on 2 and 3 November at the NEC, Birmingham, are extremely positive after show organisers reported a hugely successful loyalty period.

Exhibitors continue to invest in SALTEX

Exhibitors continue to invest in SALTEX

Over 100 exhibitors have re-booked for SALTEX 2022 and many more continue to confirm their presence during the current discounted early-bird period which ends on 18 February.

In 2021, 93% of exhibitors generated new sales leads with many taking direct orders on the show floor. The 2022 floorplan already boasts a strong showing of renowned exhibitors.

Furthermore, an incredible 15% of 2021 exhibitors have also purchased extra stand space for SALTEX 2022 which is testament to the success of the 2021 event.

Cramer, who exhibited at SALTEX 2021, has over doubled the size of its stand for SALTEX 2022. Cramer, supported and distributed by Handy, used SALTEX 2021 as a launch platform to promote its 82V range of commercial ground care equipment.

“SALTEX 2021 went way beyond our expectations,” said Handy’s Sales and Marketing Director, Mark Moseley. “What really opened our eyes was the quality of visitor and the heightened interest in the Cramer products. On our stand we had a lot of large dealers which is what we were looking for; we had big contractors, who are the kind of people we need to be talking to; and we spoke to many councils that want to convert from petrol to battery powered products.

“It was one of the busiest shows we have ever experienced,” continued Mark. “In fact, we took a certain number of catalogues that we thought would last us for two days, and they were all gone within the first two hours of the show opening. We’re still following up on all the leads we received at SALTEX, and we have carried out so many demonstrations. We have already brought on-board a lot of new customers and dealers because of SALTEX.

“Our experience of SALTEX 2021 has given us the confidence to go bigger at SALTEX 2022 and to take advantage of the quality of clientele.”

Toro UK is exhibiting with a bigger stand at SALTEX 2022 and Matthew Colman, Sales Manager, revealed exactly why.

“SALTEX 2021 was a great success for us at Toro UK Ltd. Finally, we had the chance to showcase new and innovative products within our landscape contracting equipment.

“It is with huge excitement that we’re going even bigger at this year’s SALTEX. During the pandemic Toro invested more on development than ever before. Our stand at SALTEX 2022 will be displaying everything we’ve been working on over the last few years for the first time in the UK.”

Comments such as these can only be a reflection on the growing number of exhibitors in the 2022 show. After a year’s absence STIHL UK, Barrus and Vale Engineering have also confirmed that they are returning to SALTEX 2022.

Geoff Webb, GMA CEO, commented on the positive start, saying: “SALTEX continues to grow, and the sales team are receiving new enquiries every week alongside existing exhibitors investing in bigger and additional stands.

“We are also delighted to be welcoming back previous exhibitors who were unable to join us in 2021. There is extremely high demand at this period in the sales cycle taking us back to pre-pandemic levels.”
