With climatic conditions and maintenance demands placing ever-increasing pressure on turf managers, DLF are pleased to present their strongest ever line-up of grass seed mixtures to support durable, sustainable surfaces without compromising on plant health or visual merit. Central to this offering is DLF’s 4turf® tetraploid ryegrass technology.

Proving itself to be a game-changer for elite sporting venues, 4turf® is also well suited to landscape applications where rapid establishment, visual quality and a hardwearing surface are of paramount performance. With enhanced root development, mixtures that contain DLF’s 4turf® tetraploid ryegrass – such as Johnsons J 4turf 25/50/100 and PM51 Greenscape from the Masterline range – are better equipped to withstand environmental stresses such as drought, cold and wear. Hardier in nature, 4turf® also demonstrates better disease resistance, reducing reliance on chemical applications.

Further environmental benefit is delivered by DLF’s Pro Flora and Colour Boost wildflower ranges. With more than 25 mixtures available and significantly expanded in-house production for enhanced seed purity, DLF offers both the expertise and capacity to support conservation and biodiversity initiatives in all settings across the UK. Whether the objective is to creative native, habitat-rich meadows, or deliver bold visual impact with non-native annuals, there’s a mixture suited to every environment.

DLF’s experts will be available throughout the event to answer all of your technical questions as well as discuss the comprehensive research and trials programme underway at their industry-leading headquarters in Inkberrow, Worcestershire. Discover the next generation of sustainable, high-performance green spaces with a visit to DLF when GroundsFest returns to Stoneleigh Park on the 9th and 10th September.

Seven Solutions for Water Sustainability

Seven Solutions for Water Sustainability: Syngenta Golf has published a new in-depth feature on the critical challenge golf course businesses face to become water sustainable.

Featuring seven solutions and case studies from Arizona and California to Spain and Italy, leading voices and superintendents share their insights.

Seven Solutions for Water Sustainability

Seven Solutions for Water Sustainability

With 2025 already set to be one of the three warmest years on record, global water scarcity is now an existential threat to many golf businesses.

And with AI (Artificial Intelligence) expected to double or quadruple its demand for water to cool thermoelectric power plants by 2028, industry and agriculture will be the big users competing for supplies.

Mark Birchmore, Global Head of Marketing, Turf & Landscape for Syngenta, said: “We know from our groundbreaking global social media study analyzing 16.1 million social media posts and comments worldwide that the perception of golf courses in relation to sustainability is highly negative, especially when courses are irrigating during heat waves and droughts.

“What this feature highlights are both the misconceptions and misinformation surrounding golf and sustainability, but also how golf course businesses need to better communicate their irrigation strategies and actions – as well as the wider sustainability benefits they bring to communities, including economic and social benefits.

The new feature follows the launch of Syngenta’s mini-documentary series The Green Report, showcasing leading golf courses’ approach to environmental sustainability around the world.

The series begins with a compelling three-part feature at this year’s Ryder Cup host venue, Bethpage State Park in New York, where water collected from an old landfill site is treated and used to supplement irrigation.
