Aphrodite Hills upgrades Club Car fleet

Aphrodite Hills upgrades Club Car fleet: Aphrodite Hills Resort has received 72 new Club Car golf vehicles, replacing a fleet that has clocked up around 1.8 million kilometres since 2010.

The 5-star Cyprus venue estimates a ten-fold return on investment for the Club Car Precedents bought 14 years ago, with each of the 72 cars having between 25,000 – 30,000km on the clock.

Andrew Darker, Aphrodite Hills’ Director of Golf, explained: “Lots of venues lease their buggies but we decided to purchase ours all those years ago and it has proved a very shrewd move.

“The cars have delivered exceptional longevity. We are buggy-mandatory here as it’s a very hilly course on tough terrain. We’ve always had our own mechanic on site who does all the servicing and preventative maintenance, and it has been an excellent investment.”

Aphrodite Hills Resort is a PGA Partner venue and the first and only golf, leisure and real estate development in Cyprus. It is built on two plateaux, separated by a dramatic ravine with stunning views over the Mediterranean.

A staggering 130-metre gorge separates the signature seventh hole, meaning the golf cars have to navigate an exceptionally steep descent before climbing back up the other side to the green.

After driving the equivalent of 45 times around the globe, the old fleet has been replaced by Club Car’s state-of-the-art Lithium-Ion Tempo model complete with Visage GPS technology.

“The new fleet is enhancing the experience for our golfers,” continued Darker. “As a big resort the geo-fencing function is a great asset to have, and the lithium batteries are making a huge difference with shorter charging time, lasting longer and being more powerful, which is a big plus on our terrain.

“It was a no-brainer to buy rather than lease the new vehicles again and to stick with Club Car because we know how reliable and durable they are.”

Tony Swinnerton, Club Car’s EMEA Sales Director, said: “To have a fleet drive 1.8 million cumulative kilometres is phenomenal and just demonstrates the quality of our vehicles.”

Club Car’s highly-acclaimed Tempo model comes with 3.3hp motor and 375 Amp controller as standard to deliver outstanding hill-climbing power and acceleration. It also has many customisable options including colour, seats, storage, wheels and three programmable drive modes to maximise performance.

The Lithium-Ion-powered model is more efficient than standard batteries, with shorter charging time, longer lifespan and zero maintenance. It is also lighter, resulting in less impact on turf.

STIHL upgrades cordless chainsaw range

STIHL upgrades cordless chainsaw range: STIHL has launched upgraded versions of its popular AP System MSA 160 C-B, MSA 200 C-B, and MSA 220 C-B cordless chainsaws, offering professional users a new streamlined design, improved battery performance, faster cutting and enhanced operational features.

The new MSA 160 C-B is more powerful than the previous version, boasting a larger motor and compatibility with the recommended AP 300 S AP System battery, which ensures an increased electrical output of 1.5 kW for faster cutting performance.

Moreover, the enhanced MSA 220 now comes as standard with a 3/8P pitch, 1.1mm gauge PS3 PRO chain, which improves cutting performance by up to 20% due to its narrower kerf. The new chain has been specifically designed for use with STIHL’s new Light 04 1.1mm guide bar, allowing more cuts to be made per battery charge. The MSA 160 C-B and MSA 200 C-B feature a 1/4P chain for smooth and precise cuts.

All three new models have seen numerous upgraded operational features introduced to improve the user experience. These include improved visibility of the chain oil level for faster checks, a thumb lever and OPC starting switch for increased comfort and safety, as well as a soft rubberised grip and optimally balanced handle position for maximum control and comfort.

In addition, all new models feature quick chain tensioning for fast and tool-less replacement or tensioning of the chain, as well as bayonet style oil tank caps which can be opened quickly and easily while wearing gloves.

All the new saws are compatible with the STIHL Smart Connectors, part of the STIHL Connected fleet management system. Smart Connectors record and transmit the working time of the tool to the user’s smartphone, giving prompts to complete important maintenance tasks exactly when they’re required.

Upgrades and Launches for Etesia UK

Upgrades and Launches for Etesia UK: Etesia UK will have a range of pedestrian and ride-on mowers, brushcutters and the award-winning ET Lander electric utility vehicle on display at SALTEX 2022.

Etesia, located on stand E072, are specialists in building high quality grass cutting machinery and have been a regular exhibitor at SALTEX over the years, choosing the show as a platform to launch new products and make exciting announcements. This year is no exception.

Upgrades and Launches for Etesia UK

Upgrades and Launches for Etesia UK

In addition to showcasing many of their most popular products, Etesia UK will be launching the Electric Bahia M2EL lithium and will be announcing a new feature of the ET Lander electric utility vehicle.

The groundscare industry first got the chance to view the utility vehicle at SALTEX in November last year, where it won the prestigious SALTEX 2021 Innovation award within the vehicle category, while also finishing second within the environmentally friendly category.

The ET Lander will be returning to this year’s SALTEX but this time visitors will be pleased to see that the new models will be fully N1 homologation compliant meaning that the ET Lander will be fully road legal along with being able to be used off road.

The new models will also feature lithium-ion batteries which ensures that the range of the ET Lander will extend to 100km and have a charger system compatible with a standard type 2EV car charger. These models will also come in a new sleek, black option.

100% electric, spacious, well-equipped and user-friendly, it is built on a robust chassis and has an array of options including a three-way tipper bed with dual control from the fully fitted two-seater cab or by remote control when outside the vehicle. With a length of just 3.72 meters, the ET Lander is very compact. Thanks to the power steering, the short turning radius of 4.40 meters and 360 ° visibility, it goes anywhere. The autonomy of the vehicle lasts for a full working day – without noise pollution, can transport loads of up to 940kgs and can also tow up to 750kgs.

Etesia’s other exciting news is that the Bahia M2E – the world’s first 100% electric professional ride-on-mower with grass collection, is now powered by a 48V, 100Ah lithium battery. This enables users to get up to 4 hrs 30 mins of action before it needs recharging.

A pocket-size ride-on mower, just 0.82 m wide and 1.98 m long, the Etesia electric Bahia features an incredibly tight turning circle. It nips into every nook and cranny and can be easily transported. With its low centre of gravity, the Etesia electric Bahia’s 33/67 weight distribution on the front/rear axles make it a highly stable mower that masterfully copes with slopes.

It is also highly economical – the electric Bahia’s running costs are £0.35 against £3.57 for the petrol version and there are the obvious reduced maintenance costs – such as no belt, no filters, and no engine oil.

As always, the company’s knowledgeable staff will be available throughout the two days to advise and assist.

For further information, please contact Etesia UK on 01295 680120 or visit www.etesia.co.uk.

Gerrards Cross upgrades to ISEKI

Gerrards Cross upgrades to ISEKI: Pete Allen, Deputy Course Manager at Gerrards Cross Golf Club, claims that his new ISEKI TG6675 compact tractor has been invaluable since the day he purchased it.

Built in 1922, Gerrards Cross Golf Club is considered one of the most attractive courses in Buckinghamshire. With the River Misbourne meandering past the club house, and set in the grounds of an ancient estate, the woodland course measures 6,243 yards and is a testing par 69.

Gerrards Cross upgrades to ISEKI

Gerrards Cross upgrades to ISEKI

Pete claims that having a tractor to carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks on the course is essential. Therefore, when his previous tractor “couldn’t cope with some of the jobs” they needed it to do, it was time for an upgrade.

“When deciding on what tractor to purchase we looked across the whole market,” he said. “We liked the ISEKI TG6675 because it was a nice compact size, it had the right lifting capacity and had a big engine so we could use all of the implements and attachments we have. Overall, it was the complete package and the best tractor we came across.”

The ISEKI TG6675 sets the benchmark for compact tractor performance. Designed and manufactured in Japan, it is built to exceptional standards of quality, starting from the front lights through to the back three-point linkage. Every component, including the engine and transmission, features ISEKI’s stamp of approval for quality and excellence that is rarely seen in the mini tractor market.

The new ISEKI TG6675 tractor is available with a ROPS, or a factory fitted, fully air-conditioned category 2 cabin. All instruments and gauges are easy to read and indicate driving information like engine speed, travelling speed, and PTO speed can be viewed at a glance. All levers are ergonomically located around the driving seat and there is ample space for the driver’s comfort.

“A big plus with this tractor was that we were able to get a front linkage and a front PTO set-up installed,” said Pete. “We run a blower on the front of it and can also put a woodchipper on the front. This, for me, is an improvement because I’ve used blowers on the rear of a tractor before but having it on the front means I am not having to look over my shoulder all the time – I can see everything clearly.

“Everything about the tractor is built with the user in mind. There is also a PTO switch on the outside of the tractor, so you don’t have to keep jumping in and out of the cab, which has been great. Plus, with the front loader, we can load all our machinery when required and also maintain our sheds with the pallet forks to keep everything neat and tidy.

“It is a solid yet compact tractor which is perfect for getting to every area of the golf course,” continued Pete. “It covers everything from a maintenance point of view, and it has been invaluable since day one.

“The backup and support have been excellent, and we couldn’t be happier. I would always consider another ISEKI machine to replace anything on our fleet which needed upgrading.”

Agrovista UK announces depot upgrades

Agrovista UK announces depot upgrades: Agrovista UK is reinventing the way it distributes its wide range of products and that has started with a newly built depot in Melsonby and some significant upgrades in Allscott.

Ongoing improvements, developments and new initiatives are signalling exciting times for everyone connected with Agrovista UK. Staff, partners, suppliers, and customers are reaping the benefits of all the mechanisms being put in place, and the company’s latest focus has been on improving its storage and distribution.

Agrovista UK announces depot upgrades

Agrovista UK announces depot upgrades

The initiative perfectly captures the essence of Agrovista UK’s recently launched new campaign, which highlights its support for the arable and amenity industries that it specialises in.

The new #ForOurGrowers and #ForOurSports campaign celebrates the hard work of all involved in British farming and in British amenity – particularly following the unprecedented challenges experienced during recent times.

“We are striving to become the best in class in distribution and provide the best service we possibly can,” said Jamie Appleton – Agrovista UK National Supply Manager. “Our goal is to increase the capability of our teams and to ensure that our customers and our people are central to everything that we are doing.

“Historically, in terms of depots, we have centred ourselves on the outskirts of very rural communities in small holdings or farms. What that did, however, was create certain challenges, in terms of staffing, in terms of road networks and being able to reach out to all our customers on time.

“Melsonby, North Yorkshire, is the first purposely-built depot and is centred on the A1 and the A66 so drivers can reach the likes of Cumbria, Northumbria, and Yorkshire with a great level of ease. We can get products to our customers even quicker now.

“When we acquired Maxwell Amenity – we provided ourselves with a great power in the amenity sector and Allscott, Telford, is how we service our online customers. The recent upgrades at this depot have made us even stronger and it is our largest site across the company.”

Scott Hird, Depot Supervisor at the Melsonby depot and Jamie Harvey, Depot Manager at Allscott, were on hand to offer further insight into how this strategy is benefitting both staff and customers.

Melsonby

“We feel that we are now closer to our customers,” said Scott. “The Melsonby depot was built to replace a depot in Malpas, and it is much larger in size. We can hold more stock and we are delivering more products in a day than we ever did before. Because we are now closer to our customers, some even come directly to us to pick the products up if they really need them.

“Furthermore, the staff are all now on long-term contracts to ensure that we are more suited to the customers’ needs. They feel more valued and understand that there is always training available and opportunities for them to move through the business. It is a great atmosphere to be in daily.

“We had a clear vision of what we wanted to create at Melsonby and it is exactly how we wanted it to be. It wouldn’t have been possible without the team that were working at Malpas – we are working hard to keep the high standards that they originally set.”

Allscott

“It is a highly professional and slick operation,” said Jamie Harvey. “We have re-racked the entire warehouse; the front offices have had a major renovation and look fantastic, and we are also developing a new warehouse.

“We have the resources in place to ensure that everybody gets the same service regardless of if they are a first-time buyer or have spent two million pounds on our products. Improving customer service was always top of the agenda and these upgrades have helped us to achieve this.

“The staff are also a lot happier. It is nice to work for a company where employee welfare is a massive part of what they are trying to accomplish. We’re not just numbers and that makes a huge difference.”

Major Upgrades For Swift Roller Mowers

Major Upgrades For Swift Roller Mowers: Already renowned for their low maintenance and durable machinery, Major Equipment has announced a series of upgrades to their tractor mounted Swift Roller Mowers. These mowers are available in working widths from 1.9m to 5.4m.

Built light to allow them to be used on smaller compact tractors, there is no compromise on strength with the use of Strenx™ 700 MC high-yield steel, which is stronger than steel traditionally used in machinery.

Major Upgrades For Swift Roller Mowers

Now the mower bodies are galvanised using zinc hot-dip galvanisation for added protection from harsh exterior conditions. Hot-dip coating of the metal doubles the life span compared with painting and, Major say, it will protect steel from corrosion in most atmospheric conditions for 25 to 30 years.

It’s no wonder then that Major has also introduced a three-year professional warranty for all models in their Swift Roller Mower range but they haven’t stopped there. The roller mowers’ custom designed gearbox has been upgraded for improved and consistent mowing, even in the toughest conditions. High speed blade tips on the Major roller mowers offer higher output with an enviably professional cylinder mower finish every time you cut.

Berkshire GC Upgrades With HSBC

Berkshire GC Upgrades With HSBC: Berkshire’s Goring and Streatley Golf Club has upgraded its grounds with a new state-of-the-art Rain Bird irrigation system, using a £660,000 funding package from HSBC.

Brand new pipework and sprinklers have been installed beneath its greens, tees, approaches and fairways using the ‘mole ploughing’ technique, as opposed to trenching, in order to minimise damage to the ground.

Berkshire GC Upgrades With HSBC

Putting Goring and Streatley on par with other prestigious golf clubs such as Sunningdale Golf Club in Ascot and The London Club in Kent, the irrigation system is fully computerised, allowing the sprinklers to be controlled remotely by a smartphone, tablet or computer. This functionality also enables the Club to efficiently manage its water use.

While members have still been able to play the course without disruption, it has been a major project and has just been completed after six months of work.

Commenting on the investment, Ian Nash, Area Director for Business Banking in the Thames Valley, said: “Upgrading the Golf Club’s irrigation system was crucial to the business. The Club has a strong local reputation and this new system will ensure members experience a course of the best quality for years to come.”

Martin Hucklesby, General Manager at Goring and Streatley Golf Club, added: “The most vital feature that defines a golf club is the irrigation system – as grass has a high moisture content. Our investment in this new system, which has been made possible by HSBC, secures the future of our historical golf course and will hopefully attract even more golfers to our course.”

Goring and Streatley Golf Club was established in 1895 as a nine-hole course and designed by renowned golf course architect Harry Colt. Located in the idyllic North Wessex Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, golfers are provided with a brilliant backdrop of the Thames Valley, the Ridgeway and the River Thames whilst teeing off.
