True Grit At SALTEX

True Grit At SALTEX: Wessex International have chosen Saltex as the venue for the launch of PolarOne, their new range of professional salt and grit spreaders for winter maintenance.

Built in the UK to take on the harshest winter conditions, the spreader is constructed using stainless steel components and fixings together with powder coating for anti-corrosion longevity. Durability and weight saving are also the thinking behind the self-supporting design of the polypropylene hopper and integral liquid brine tank. PolarOne can be trailer or vehicle-mounted. There are two models, the WS-900 (900L) and WS-1200 (1200L) and each has three options.

True Grit At SALTEX

Model ST is a manually operated machine for those who just want a basic spreader, no speed control or data logging. Model GT has all the functions of the standard machine but with the addition of GPS speed control. The system monitors changes in forward speed and spread widths to ensure precise application and minimal material wastage, for increased profitability. The Commander has all the above with the addition of full telematics to remotely monitor the salt spreader back at base. The set- up would have access to a real-time webpage and opens up a variety of additional facilities such as route logging, reporting and ring-fencing for fleet and productivity management. The PolarFlo vibration system is a patented auto vibration control to manage consistent material flow, which is totally new and unique to the industry. The spreader is suited to a wide variety of vehicles with its adjustable spinner height coupled with a convenient fold up feature. The spread direction is easily adjusted to bias from left to right by moving the feed chute position and there’s a safety emergency stop. PolarOne’s extended auger design allows better weight distribution in the host vehicle and the large diameter auger, with delivery tunnel, manages the spreading of a large range of materials without blockages or leakage.

Wessex have achieved a unique, low maintenance design with the PolarOne spreader using no engines, belts, chains or grease points.  The in-cab digital controller, with GPS connectivity, will adjust material delivery according to your vehicle speeds to maintain a consistent application rate. A speed optimisation indicator will help you optimise your driving speeds to improve the accuracy of spreading and productivity of your equipment and reduce material wastage. There’s a wide range of optional extras and plans to introduce pre-wet and spray bar options. Brine will be available in 2020.  Wessex will also display their ProLine range of commercial mowers and turf machinery at the show.  See the PolarOne spreader and latest ProLine on the Wessex International stand number K060 at Saltex.

ECHO Brings Innovation To SALTEX

ECHO Brings Innovation To SALTEX: ECHO will be showcasing a range of new commercial products for groundscare and landscaping professionals at this year’s Saltex.

The ECHO X Series represents a line of products with performance unlike anything else. The foundation of the X Series is understanding professional needs and applying this with powerful, lightweight products designed for great productivity. Two new ‘Best in Class’ ECHO X Series products are introduced to the range.

ECHO Brings Innovation To SALTEX

The ECHO CS-2511WES rear-handle professional chainsaw is the lightest and most compact rear-handle in the ECHO range. Offering an excellent power-to-weight ratio, the CS-2511WES has a dry weight of just 2.6kg and the premium grade ECHO two-stroke engine produces an output of 1.1kW. The chainsaw’s compact design makes it highly manoeuvrable for users working in tight spaces and the ultra-light weight means it can be used for longer periods without fatigue.

ECHO’s latest and most powerful backback blower, the PB-8010, will be launched at the show. Built for the professional, it offers industry leading performance with the 79.9cc two-stroke engine delivering the highest blower power available, with a maximum air speed of 94.5m/sec. The PB-8010 is perfect for heavy clean-up jobs and clearing large spaces. The innovative, lightweight carbon fibre frame, with its heavy-duty backstraps, is ergonomically designed to give the user maximum control and all-day comfort.

Also featured on the stand will be ECHO’s ground-breaking high torque brushcutters, with a 1:2 gear reduction ratio, delivering up to 50% more torque at the cutting head compared to previous models. This means an ECHO high torque brushcutter can provide the same cutting performance as a larger machine, but with a smaller, lightweight engine. That also means less weight and fatigue for the operator and the potential for higher productivity.

ECHO products are manufactured by the Yamabiko Corporation, a leading Japanese manufacturer of professional-quality, outdoor power equipment for over 60 years. ECHO demonstrate their extreme confidence in their machines by offering a two-year professional warranty on their petrol and 50v battery tools.

AriensCo distribute the ECHO products across the UK through a network of authorised dealerships. To find out more about ECHO power tools, visit stand F013 at SALTEX , go online at www.echo-tools.co.uk or call 01844 278800.

SISIS Heading To FSB 2019

SISIS Heading To FSB 2019: SISIS will be exhibiting at FSB Cologne, Germany from 5-8 November 2019 where the British manufacturer will be showcasing a range of market leading turf maintenance equipment for synthetic surfaces.

Visitors to the exhibition will able to locate SISIS in hall 10.2, Aisle A, Stand No. 038, and will have the opportunity to see the following products:

SISIS Heading To FSB 2019

SISIS Brush-Pro

The SISIS Brush-Pro is a ride-on brushing system comprising a pair of mid mounted oscillating units and three rear mounted brush units that that have been specifically designed for maintaining synthetic surfaces. The machine has been designed for maximum manoeuvrability and operator comfort which features an electric start, hydrostatic drive for forward/reverse and its brush combinations – oscillating for thorough periodic work and rear mounted brushes for more routine work.

SISIS Osca 3

The SISIS Osca 3 is a tractor mounted powered oscillating brush with a 1.9 meter working width and is equally effective when used on synthetic turf with sand or rubber infill. The two oscillating brushes stand the carpet fibres up and redistributes the infill evenly, minimising compaction on the surface and improving its performance – giving consistent playing characteristics while preventing pile damage caused by reduced infill levels.

A contributory factor to the reduction of compaction is that the Osca’s working width will use fewer passes than other more conventional drag brushes to complete a pitch. Its aggressive brushing action agitates the upper infill level of the surface from side to side as well as brushing forward, helping reduce surface compaction and encourage the fibres to stand up straight which reduces the risk of contamination, drainage problems and leaves a consistent playing surface across the whole pitch.

SISIS Twinplay with Flexicomb and straight brush

The SISIS team will also be showcasing the Twinplay Towed Implement Frame (TIF) and the Flexicomb and straight brush. The Twinplay frame is a single pass maintenance system which accepts two implements at any one time and the Flexicomb and straight finishing brush is recommended for both sand and rubber infill surfaces. The Flexicomb ensures even distribution of infill and lifts the carpet pile while the straight brush produces a smooth level and eye-catching presentation. For rubber crumb surfaces a more aggressive brushing is required and this can be achieved by adjusting the crossbar on the Flexicomb to stiffen the bristles.

As well as the products being on show, the experienced SISIS team will be on hand to advise on maintenance procedures and offer tips on how to prolong the life of synthetic playing surfaces.
