Commenting on the signing Yamaha’s Dan Palmer, Manager, Golf Cars said,

“After reviewing a number of key service areas to support the growth of our direct hire business, we introduced this new initiative, appointing Service Dealers to significantly upgrade our aftersales support to customers. Our previous business model was to provide in-house service support using mobile technicians from our service centre on the south coast.

“Now, we have a respected premium family-owned and family-run business with a reputation for impeccable service and customer care supporting our customers from their branches in Bristol, Reading, Cirencester, Guildford and Ashford.  This will enable a more efficient, effective and flexible service provision in which we aim to exceed customer expectations.

“Lister Wilder are the first of our distribution partners to sign a Service Dealer agreement and are a perfect fit, with a business philosophy reflecting the ethos here at Yamaha.”

Neil Davis, Group Service Director at Lister Wilder added,

“We partnered with Yamaha in 2019, marketing and selling golf cars and light electric vehicles. The success of our sales role for these products resulted in our appointment as ATV dealers, as well. Now, we can celebrate the award of Service Dealer status, providing a bespoke, all-encompassing service for golf course operators.

“We are delighted that Yamaha have put their trust in us to support this new strategy, enabling golf courses access to Yamaha’s product offering through their direct hire programme, which removes third party finance agreements and offers true fixed costs, together with all round support.”

Engcon’s mission is to change the world of digging. With Engcon the excavator is turned into a tool carrier changing the way operators dig and enabling new ways to use an excavator. Engcon’s tiltrotator together with an Engcon quick hitch gives operators the ability to change tools without leaving the cabin and use them in new ways that increase the flexibility and efficiency of their excavators. All this ultimately leads to increased productivity and profitability for customers. Engcon is now a preferred supplier of John Deere, which means end users can access Engcon’s smart products from the John Deere and Hitachi excavator dealer network throughout the United States and Canada.

“This journey started in the Nordic countries 30 years ago based on the idea that it was possible to dig and utilise excavators in a better way. At Engcon we are thrilled to increase the pace of this journey together with John Deere, we believe that we will both benefit by making Engcon’s proven solutions available in the US and Canada together with John Deere and Hitachi excavators. However, the real winners in this are the operators and end customers that will be able to work in new ways and be more productive and profitable”, says Krister Blomgren, CEO Engcon.

Thanks to the new collaboration, customers will be able to choose Engcon’s tiltrotators and automatic quick mounting system with EC-Oil, where the driver can connect hydraulic tools without leaving the cab, through authorised John Deere and Hitachi dealers in the USA and Canada.

“At John Deere, we have always been focused on providing products and technology that enable our customers to optimise efficiency and uptime on the job site. Through this agreement with Engcon, customers are further equipped to benefit from enhanced jobsite performance and ultimately profitability”, says David Thorne, senior vice president, sales & marketing, John Deere Construction & Forestry.

This agreement makes it possible for customers to benefit from easier and quicker access to Engcon’s products through their local John Deere and Hitachi excavator dealers. This marks a milestone in making the tiltrotator concept more accepted and known globally, particularly in the US and Canada where Engcon is expecting an increased rate of growth in the coming years.

Facts:

The Foamstream herbicide-free system can be safely used anywhere, particularly in places with high footfall and where there are animals as well as next to waterways and delicate ecosystems. The system combines heat and water with a foam solution that is both safe and highly effective. As well as removing weeds, the system can remove gum, remove graffiti and clean street furniture.

For many users such as councils, private estates, golf courses, facilities companies as well as many others, it will be far more cost-effective as fewer applications are needed each year. The system also dramatically cuts down the requirements of manual labour.

As Fraser C Robb Director Lorna Robb explains this new deal represents a significant addition to their range of environmentally friendly products.

“Our business is within a National Park and we know from our customers throughout Scotland the sensitivity to our land, waterways and public areas, Foamstream will allow them to kill weeds in a way completely safe to the environment. This system will also be more effective in keeping our towns and cities clean, saving organisations time and money.

We are delighted to be bringing this product to market in Scotland and working with the innovative team at Weedingtech. We have seen the impact of it being introduced in other markets and know that this product will be revolutionary to the operation of councils, land estates, sporting facilities etc. throughout Scotland. This is an excellent addition to our growing range of environmentally friendly garden and ground care equipment”.

Aaron Matthews, UK & ROI Sales Manager at Weedingtech said

“After many conversations with prospects in Scotland, Fraser C. Robb were the natural choice to be our distribution partner due to their fantastic reputation among their customer base and the instant enthusiasm they had for the product. They certainly have the expertise and experience required to offer the very best customer experience for Foamstream clients.

Royal Portrush signs Toro agreement

Royal Portrush signs Toro agreement: Fresh off the success of the 2019 Open Championship it hosted, Royal Portrush Golf Club has signed another five-year agreement with Toro, bringing the relationship between the historic club and the brand to 30 years.

When we last spoke to course manager Graeme Beatt The Open had just concluded and recovery of the course was paramount. Now, Graeme can look back at the event and all that came with it.

Royal Portrush signs Toro agreement

He reflects: “In the four years running up to the competition we made some big changes. This included adding seven new holes, 34 tees and 22 bunkers across both our courses. And the Dunluce links course, which held The Open, had added five new greens, 19 tees and 18 bunkers, plus changes to every hole of some kind. Additionally, two miles of road and 18 miles of pipe and ducting were installed to accommodate new infrastructure for spectators of The Open. Toro machinery and irrigation were integral to our prep, the course maintenance throughout the event and the aftercare. And the whole time we saw excellent results which, with 25 years of experience with Toro at the club, was nothing less than expected!”

It’s this long history of Toro’s excellent performance and reliability that saw the club sign a further five-year agreement at the conclusion of last year, continues Graeme: “I’ve been using Toro for the majority of my career and during that time the machines have proved themselves to be reliable and robust. The finish they provide is second to none. Combined with the excellent service from Reesink Turfcare, there really was no question who we would turn to for our next renewal, especially after the huge success of The Open, which was a real team effort.

“Reesink loaned us 25 Toro machines, joining our 50-strong existing fleet, and we simply wouldn’t have been able to make such a success of hosting the event without that help. With many of the players staying late to get extra practice, we had to get the course – all 7,300 yards of it – ready within a very short time period each morning. And it wasn’t just the increased number of machines that allowed us to do this, but the efficiency and quality of those machines.”

And the quality of Toro machines was further proved after the conclusion of the competition. With so many spectators, a huge 237,750 making it the highest attended championship outside of St Andrews, Toro was needed to help with the recovery of the links course.

“The course was generally in great condition when the competition ended as the maintenance throughout was to such a high standard, from both the machinery and irrigation,” says Graeme. “However the spectator areas had seen a lot of stress, so it was important to have high-quality machinery to aid the turf’s recovery, which of course Toro provided.”

With the course back up to standard and a new agreement in place, Graeme’s thoughts turned to the next five years and he has big plans: “We’re looking at bringing in Infinity sprinklers across the whole course after seeing them in action on the new holes. They perform so well, particularly in windy conditions which we have a lot of here! We’re also considering introducing hybrid mowers to the fleet. Not only are they better for the environment and eliminate any possibility of an oil leak, but they are now tried and tested machines.”

But ultimately, what this latest deal does is “continue to provide golfers with a championship standard experience,” says Graeme.
