Supplying all seven clubs with training, matchday and ground equipment, Net World Sports has signed a three-year partnership with the new league which will see the UK based ecommerce company provide football equipment to teams until 2021.

As Official Suppliers of the league Net World Sports has shipped more than 1,700 items of football equipment to Canada, including full size 24 x 8 FORZA Alu110 Freestanding Stadium Box Football Goals and revolutionary FORZA Alu110 360˚ Football Goal Wheels that were designed and tested in conjunction with Manchester United’s ground team.

As well as FORZA Alu110 Football Goals, the teams have enjoyed a plethora of smaller training goals too, including the FORZA POD Aluminium Folding Goal which is perfect for matchday prepping away from home ground and the FORZA Alu Mini Target Goal to encourage pinpoint accuracy.

As part of the three-year partnership negotiated by Canadian Soccer Business (CSB) on behalf of the CPL, Net World Sports will receive first right of refusal on supplying equipment to the league and seven clubs, access to media assets, direct promotion through Canadian Premier League’s Centre Circle app and product reviews and endorsements by players.

Alex Lovén, Founder & CEO of Net World Sports comments: “We’re immensely excited to finally be able to announce our three-year partnership with the Canadian Premier League. As an Official Equipment Supplier, the partnership will offer us a great opportunity to showcase our fantastic range of quality football products to thousands of fans of the beautiful game and truly cements our position as global players within the industry.

“A partnership of this scale has been a long time coming for Net World Sports and marks a huge milestone within our company’s history. It’s completely new territory for us, but we’re all about doing the unconventional, taking risks and following our gut instincts. As soon as we were approached by Canadian Soccer Business about the possibilities of entering into a partnership, we instantly knew it was something we wanted to be a part of. This is just the start of a monumental legacy in Canada’s football history and it’s great that we’re able to share this landmark occasion with the Canadian Premier League.”

Founded in 2009 by Alex Lovén, Net World Sports offers a range of professional quality flagship football products at affordable prices. The only company to deliver football goals across the world within two days, Net World Sports has been manufacturing their own range of FORZA Football Goals since 2013. Barenbrug’s New Winter Sports Blend

Barenbrug’s New Winter Sports Blend: Elite Sport from Barenbrug is the new number one rated Winter Sports blend. The top-performing product blends perennial ryegrasses for the renovation and construction of winter sports pitches.

Cultivar trials at the Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI) under the British Society of Plant Breeders (BSPB) protocol analyse the performance of sports perennial ryegrasses under intensive wear pressure in line with a winter sports season.  The trial plots are sown in spring, and a “wear simulation machine” is applied from autumn through to the following spring.  Individual cultivars are replicated three times and scored for traits such as Visual Merit; Live Ground Cover; Shoot Density and Recovery; each scored on a scale of 1-9 (9 is highest).

Barenbrug's New Winter Sports Blend

A ryegrass cultivar must be subjected to three successive wear trials (sports seasons) to be listed in Table S1 of the annual publication “Turfgrass Seed” (aka “the STRI/BSPB booklet”).  Table S1 represents a ranking of Mean scores (the combined average of Visual Merit and Live Ground Cover) of approximately 100 perennial ryegrass varieties.

Elite Sport features four of the top-six cultivars in the S1 table and contains 40% by composition of the new #1-ranked Europitch (Mean = 8.1).  Overall, the product blend has an outstanding Mean score of 7.92.  This score translates into Elite Sport being the industry-leading performing product for winter sports use in the UK.

In addition to performance underwear, the blend has other traits of interest to grounds managers of elite winter sports surfaces.  Barcristalla (25% of the mix) is ranked #1 in the top-60 listed varieties for dark green colour and has exceptional Drechslera leaf spot and Fusarium (Microdochium) tolerance (source: turfgrass-list.org).  These two factors are particularly important to stadium environments under intensive disease pressure and the scrutiny of high-definition TV cameras.

Three of the four varieties have also been put their paces at Barenbrug’s dedicated UK research station, Cropvale, in Worcestershire.  Here, wear simulation is monitored using Digital Image Analysis (DIA) to objectively analyse performance.

Elite Sport is being successfully tested in pilot form at Heart of Midlothian FC, following a full pitch reconstruction in the summer of 2018.

Olympic & Orient Welcome For New Sports Centre

Olympic & Orient Welcome For New Sports Centre: An Olympic Gold medallist and two products of the Leyton Orient youth system have opened a new pavilion and sports centre at Ive Farm Sports Ground in East London.

Hockey midfielder Helen Richardson-Walsh MBE opened the Feel Good Too sports centre alongside Orient defender Sam Ling, goalkeeper Charlie Grainger and ribbon cutter Clare Coghill, the leader of Waltham Forest Council.

Olympic & Orient Welcome For New Sports Centre

Richardson-Walsh won gold at the 2016 Rio Games, after converting a penalty in the dramatic shootout win over defending Olympic and current world champions Holland.

The £11m scheme in Leyton masterminded by main contractor Wilmott Dixon is now the new home of the Leyton Orient FC Academy, which has moved from the Score Centre, that will now be redeveloped for housing by Taylor Wimpey.

The Feel Good Too Centre includes two floodlit all-weather pitches, a 60m running track, six volleyball courts, a fitness trail, 40 growing beds and a pavilion with changing rooms and a café.

Access to the pavilion is via three swing gates and three huge architectural tracked sliding gates, the largest of them 4.5m wide, that are clad with 358 fencing and form part of the building walls.

The innovative scheme was designed by Fifth Studio Architects, supplied by steel fencing manufacturer Zaun Ltd and installed by Zaun subsidiary Binns Fencing.

Councillor Coghill said: “This is a great new facility in Leyton that will act as a sports hub for the whole borough, as well as a place where local residents can come along to keep fit, take part in sports and make new friends in the local community.”

Sports Pitch Ruined By Quad Bike

Sports Pitch Ruined By Quad Bike: Three junior football teams have had their pitch ruined by mindless vandals.

Bosses at Cleck Sporting Juniors believe a quad bike was taken onto the field, in Mann Dam Park, off Spen Lane, in Cleckheaton, and used to churn up the grass earlier this week.

It has left the pitch unplayable and forced the club to cancel the home games of the under 7, under 9 and under 10 teams which play there.

Large tyre tracks have been left all over the grass, with some deep enough to cause injury to anyone playing on the field.

Colin Harding, chairman of the club, said they will now have to re-arrange the games or play them away from home if they are to complete their fixture list for the current season.

The club was contacted on Facebook by someone who walks their dog on the field and club members of all ages were left devastated when they saw the damage.

“It’s quite badly damaged and will probably never be the same again.

“People don’t think about the long term impact this can have on the people who play there.

“We will probably have to travel outside the area.

“There has been no thought about us from whoever did this.

The future of the pitch is also under-threat, given the substantial damage done to the grass, which Mr Harding believes can not be repaired.

He has contacted Kirklees Council to see if there is anything they can do to help the stranded teams, which all play in the Huddersfield Junior League.

The club has teams in age groups right up to under 16s, but it is the younger players who will feel the brunt of the extensive damage done to their home pitch.

Mr Harding added: “With the weather we have got it won’t help because it has already caused more damage to the grass with it being so wet.

“This means we will have to travel outside of the area and play games away from home.

“Our next games is in early January, but I don’t think we will get that to go ahead.

“There’s not enough access for a car, so it would have to be a bike that got through and onto the field.”
