Pecks Groundcare Appointed as New Redexim Dealer

Pecks Groundcare has strengthened its professional groundcare offering after being appointed as a new dealer for Redexim, bringing the manufacturer’s renowned range of turf maintenance equipment to customers across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

The partnership marks another significant step in Pecks’ ongoing strategy to expand its presence within the professional groundcare sector, providing customers with access to some of the industry’s most respected machinery for sports turf, golf courses, schools, colleges and recreational facilities.

Founded in 1846 by father and son George and John Peck as blacksmiths and ironmongers, G&J Peck Ltd has grown into one of the region’s most established machinery dealerships.

With more than 180 years of experience, the employee-owned business now operates across Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Suffolk, supporting customers through its agricultural, groundcare and tyre divisions.

The addition of Redexim complements Pecks’ existing portfolio of premium groundcare brands and further strengthens its ability to support professional turf managers.

“Redexim offer market-leading groundcare machinery which completely complements our other franchises,” said Jon Wareing, Managing Director of Pecks. “They have a great reputation and, like us, they are focused on quality. We like quality machinery, good backup and strong credentials, and Redexim ticks all of those boxes.”

Jon explained that the decision to bring Redexim into the Pecks portfolio was driven by the manufacturer’s reputation for producing high-quality, specialist equipment that fills a gap within the company’s existing range.

“The machinery they offer, we don’t currently have an alternative for within our portfolio,” he said. “Many of their machines also work alongside the tractors we already supply, so there is a natural fit between the two businesses.”

The appointment forms part of a wider ambition to grow Pecks’ professional groundcare division and broaden its offering to customers operating in the sports turf and amenity sectors.

“This is all about offering a better portfolio of machinery to our professional groundcare customers,” he said. “Sports grounds, golf courses, schools, colleges, universities and facilities managing both natural and synthetic surfaces are all sectors we want to support.”

Among the extensive Redexim range, Jon is particularly excited about introducing customers to the company’s flagship Verti-Drain aerators, widely regarded as one of the most influential innovations in turf maintenance.

“The Verti-Drain is probably what Redexim is most renowned for,” he said. “But it’s not just one machine. The overseeders, synthetic surface maintenance equipment, top dressers and brushes have all generated interest already. We’ve had enquiries and requests for demonstrations across the range, which shows the level of demand that’s out there.”

For Jon, Redexim’s reputation has been built on more than just machinery performance.

“What makes Redexim stand out is the quality of design, quality of manufacturing and the support behind the products,” he said. “Parts availability and technical backup are incredibly important to us and to our customers, and Redexim delivers on those areas.”

Looking ahead, Pecks has ambitious plans for the new franchise.

“We want to grow and expand the business as much as we possibly can,” Jon explained. “We want to build on the good work that has already been done and maximise the potential for both Redexim and Pecks.”

He believes customers will benefit not only from access to Redexim’s market-leading equipment, but also from Pecks’ commitment to investing in the sector for the long term.

“Groundcare is a very important part of our future,” said Jon. “It’s a sector we’re going to continue investing resources into, both now and in the years ahead. Customers can be confident that we’ll provide excellent support through our sales, service and parts teams, and that’s something we’re extremely proud of.”

Daily use provides insights no factory test can replicate. Earlier this year, members of the StumpBusters network visited FSI Stump Cutters in Denmark to share feedback from the field and gain a closer look at the people and processes behind the machines.

Rob Baker has spent almost 20 years in arboriculture, the last eight of them specialising in stump grinding as owner of the StumpBusters South Yorkshire and Midlands franchise. So when FSI Stump Cutters invited members of the StumpBusters network to visit its factory in Denmark, Rob was among those keen to go, and to bring feedback from the field with him.

“I’ve used FSI machines for a good few years now, starting off with an FSI D30 tracked and a FSI B20 before more recently adding a new FSI B21 and D60 tracked to the fleet to keep up with the increasing workload”, Rob explains. “The different machines give us the versatility we need for jobs with different access, but all give us incredibly reliable performance.”

“Our stump grinders are the beating heart of operations and when they’re worked hard every day, inevitably components wear out and this is where the support available becomes paramount to keeping business up and running.”

Feedback from the Field
For Rob and colleagues from across the StumpBusters network, the visit to the FSI Stump Cutters facility in Denmark offered much more than a standard tour.

“It delivered real value for both parties” he says. “We got to see how the machines are made and received tips and training that help us to get the most out of our equipment. At the same time, we were able to give feedback directly to the people designing and building the machines which can only go to make these machines even better!”

“We found FSI to be incredibly open. We met people in all areas of the business who were always happy to answer our questions. We really felt like our feedback was appreciated, and their willingness to be so transparent demonstrates a real confidence in their processes and their output.”

Zeb Inker, StumpBusters Managing Director, puts the value of that feedback in context, “Where tree surgeons may be using a stump grinder once a fortnight, our team are challenging these machines day-in, day-out and, for us, the backup support and parts availability from the manufacturer are as important as the performance of the machine itself. The trip to FSI was brilliant, informative for both parties, and after seeing the knowledge and culture of the FSI team and sharing our feedback from the field, I have no doubts that more of our franchisees will be turning to FSI grinders in the future.”
