Modry Las celebrates 15th anniversary: Modry Las, Poland’s award-winning golf course and one of Europe’s leading golf resorts, is rolling out the red carpet by hosting a series of international events to celebrate its opening in 2009 by its designer Gary Player.

Seven-times winner at the World Golf Awards, Modry Las Golf Resort, The PGA National Poland, is set to welcome golfers from around the world, open new Garden Suites accommodation and offer a summer of events.

The resort has grown over the years to 27 holes with private luxury homes spotted discreetly around the resort. And now, after completing the finishing touches to its impressive clubhouse/hotel and upgrading its irrigation system; an investment designed to elevate Poland’s only signature golf course even further, the world-class resort is about to unveil six new garden suites as part of the festivities.

“Every year is a milestone,” noted Arthur Gromadzki, chairman of Modry Las, “but our 15^th seems special because of what we have achieved in a relatively short space of time. It gives us an opportunity to look back and appreciate how far we have come. To think Modry Las is now a Top 100 European course and part of a distinguished collection of the world’s leading golf resorts as a PGA National-branded property is staggering. There’s a lot to be proud of, and a lot to celebrate.”

The summer of festivities will include the International Polish Championships from June 7-9. To mark the official birthday, green fees on July 3, 2024 will be slashed to Euros 35 (150 PLN) and include an evening barbecue to welcome all golfers. On Saturday July 20, the resort will throw a gala dinner with music and dancing in its restaurant, followed by the Polish Classic Tournament the following day. And to mark the celebrations, the doors at Modry Las will be opened to dignitaries from around Europe during a special invite-only event for ambassadors from European embassies on August 11-13.

“We want to share our birthday with the widest possible range of golfers, from the best in the country to those who are just falling in love with the game,” said Gromadzki. “I think it is important that Modry Las welcomes the finest players, European dignitaries and sports fans of all kinds particularly as we celebrate such an important stage in our development.”

Recently, Modry Las was included in the latest Top 100 listing published by the UK magazine Golf World. According to the ranking’s editor, the list was all about “getting the highest level of quality for your money”, said Chris Bertram. “Poland has quality golf as well as being well priced. You’ll be absolutely staggered at how good [Modry Las] is.”

Modry Las is a 27-hole facility with a 2,000m² clubhouse, a restaurant for over 70 covers, a conference venue and fully equipped spa.

New Durapost SLEEK aluminium range: The new DuraPost^®SLEEK aluminium range from Birkdale is a contemporary and durable fence panel solution that is incredibly easy to install thanks to its modular structure. It is available in two high-quality design options, the SLEEK Privacy Panel and the SLEEK Screen Panel, with a matching SLEEK Aluminium Gate also available.

The DuraPost^® SLEEK Privacy Panel is a contemporary take on the classic tongue and groove timber panel, while the SLEEK Screen Panel emulates a classic slatted fence panel design. Unlike timber, the SLEEK panels are highly durable and low-maintenance, extruded from 6063 aluminium and powder coated Sahara Black as standard to ensure longevity of finish. For added peace of mind, the Jotun façade coating provides SLEEK with a Class A fire rating (ASTM E84).

New Durapost SLEEK aluminium range

In terms of installation, both SLEEK panels are supplied in 1825mm x 600mm pre-assembled panels with all the required fixings. As such, a single bay of DuraPost^® SLEEK panelling can be quickly erected between DuraPost^® fence posts, traditional timber posts or even slotted into existing concrete fence posts, using two or three panels depending on the required height. An infill profile is required to house the panels effectively within the DuraPost^® system or concrete posts and when fitting to timber posts.

As part of the range, Birkdale has also launched the complementary SLEEK Aluminium Gate, which is pre-assembled and utilises the SLEEK Privacy Panel design to help ensure a professional and uniform finish for gardens. It is supplied with a modern pull handle, high strength adjustable hinges and a key lockable, double-locking gravity latch.

Not only are the SLEEK panels easy to install and highly fire resistant – they add a clean, stylish finish to any garden that will stand the test of time.”
